    Project: Onslaught U2-UFO Build

    UPDATED! 5/19

Well you guys, i think my build is most likely the most waited for on this section. You guys all know what parts are going in, and im sure your all dying to see the monster created.

    Parts: Hardware

Sneaky's Custom Wrinkled Powered coated U2-UFO. Absolutely beautiful.
    Evga 680i A1
    Intel Xeon X3220
    Crucial Tracers PC8500 2GB
NVidia 7900GT -> Upgrading the dual 8950GX2 when they come out.
    WD Raptor 74Gig x 4
    PCnC 750W Silencer.

    Toys:
LSI Matrix Orbital LCD display. I wanted some bling. And i have temp probes thats are going to hook up to this display unit for coolant temps.

    Watercooling Sections:
    Loop 1-
    Iwaki RD-30
    Thermochill PA120.3
    Swiftech Apogee GTX - BOWED
    DangerDen 680i chipset
    Swiftech MCW30
    EK 250 reservoir.

    Loop Order: Res -> Pump -> RAD -> Cpu -> chipset1 -> Chipset 2 -> Res

    Loop 2-
    EK FC79 x 2
    Swiftech MCR220
    SWiftech MCP655
    EK 150 Res

    Loop Order: Pump -> Rad -> GPU -> GPU -> Res-> repeat

If i remember any more important parts, i'll edit this section: Anyhow here are the inital parts / pics.

    Here is the Case:

    Internals:

    Pics of my Radiators:

    My Pumps:

    The CPU:

    Heres everything together:

More parts coming in tommarrow from petras.
Also my LSI Matrix Orbital will also come in tommarrow, and a few other goodies from performance-pcs.

Updated parts: I got a new parts from MWAVE, and Performance-pcs.
I would just like to state, i was really impressed with how fast sidewindercomputers.com sent out my items. Same as mwave.

Heres the acrylic, b4 it gets sent out to a custom sign maker.

Heres a bunch of toys. The Gigabyte DS3 is for my E6600. Thats Onslaught JR, i was mentioning about. She will most likely replace my current NAS. AMD X2 @2.8ghz Same with the video card. It was cheap enough for me to get it. :T

BOO i thought it was the revision 3.3. :\ Or is it the rev. 3.3??

    Parts that arived from Petras:

Gotta love Quoc and Alex. Even simple hand written letters take up a lot of time.

Last bit of parts came in for my main rig. The 2 raptors i have extra which are coming from directon wont get here until monday. But all the other hardware i required has arrived.

    The white boxes are yates

Oh did i mention i got the new hardmount. Seems like 1 came with it, and 1 didnt. I only needed 1 for my SB remounting.

GAH my room is a mess:

Will update when i recieve more parts

My Building Progess always starts with a leak test. So heres the inital leak test.

OMG i cant get bubbles out of this system even with the RD-30 at the lowest setting. And lets not even talk about the highest setting. This pump is rediculously powerful.

    More leak test pic.

Most likely start the main build tommarrow if leak test shows okey.

Well leak test was okey, but the pump turned out to be way more then i expected. The whole night it was left on, and the loop never finished bleeding. Infact it would keep sucking the cyclone down.

I think i might have to change the res, out for my swiftech mcres.

    Anyhow some progress pictures:

My room is a freaken mess!

How she looks up front. Im still debating on which set of thumb screws to go with. The blue or the black ones.

Side view, each 2 ticks you see represents a raptor. She's going to have 4 total in raid.

My rear pic. Im still debating on the fan filters. They loook aweful.

    Now my radiator pic mounts:

    My rear MCR220

You guys all know what this is up front

Rear side, You guys who voted the black won the front. What about the rear now?

    My Xeon Lapped:

    Board installed.

Gpu's installed... DARN, even with the lift, i cant point the barb down. :\

    YIKES! too many fan headders

Mess of cables i need to sort

    Loop installed.

    Close up:

    My Drains:

    Close up side view:

    Drain term points:

    Top View:

    All the raptors wired up:

My front Bay Almost complete. Waiting for the 2 temp probes of red and blue color to arrive. Then custom front mount for coolant temps.

    My Matrix Orbital

    Results coming soon.

Well heres how she looks in bios.

Im doing a WCG Boinic Run at those settings. I'll post the results for that later:

WOW... im getting better temps then some people on dualcore with water: >.< YES those are load temps.

That was about 8 hours worth. Once i get my temps probes i'll post one up with nview so you guys can also check out my settings.

after my phone (nokia 8800), and watch (dont care to mention it), Also my Navi on my car, i cant stand finger prints anymore.

So i prefer this matted look over the reflective look. I have slight OCD, so finger prints really drive me crazy.

But yeah it looks a lot better up close.

You have no idea how much I hate you out of pure envy right now...
Everything you are putting in there is exactly what I would want to use for mine, including that PIMP! case. Nothing looks as good as that finish.

Wait til my Matrix Orbital comes.

Also im sending out a piece of AC Ryan acrylic to a custom sign maker. Im going to have the words M I N E spelled vertically and front mount the plastic on the exterior as rad grills for the radiator.

Anyhow i'll post more pics when i get my extra packages tommarrow. Onslaught Jr. might be born in this process as well.

E6600 @ 3636 watercooled being used purely for WCG and NAS.

Anyone hear of a NAS at that spec?

If I ever get around to getting my desk-side computer into a case, I'm pretty sure it's going to be a MM something or rather with the black wrinkle finish. Nothing looks as bad ass as that.

I'm not a water-cooler but I just had to stop in when I saw the title thread on the main page.
I've seen a few UFO builds in various forums and they all end up being very beautiful when finished. I envy anyone who is able to put together a UFO build.
Good luck and I look forward to seeing more picks .

yup. Thats why the result section is there.

But my Xeon aint anything special. Takes 1.5Vcore REAL to get 3.6 stable.

Wont boot from 3376->3599 no matter how much voltage i give her.

Nice build, looking forward to the pics....

I would have held out for the matching Zippo lighter.

well 1 problem is i dont have front bay covers. So im either going to have to order one from MM, or custom something up there.

I was more leaning on customing a front plate with the left over AC Ryan acrylic.

I prefer to stick 1 more bay device up front, but i dont know what i could add that wouldnt contribute to all that clutter.

So far my bay layout looks like this:

    Top DVD-RW -> Matrix Orbital -> DVD-RW2 -> Zalman Fan Controller <not the new one>

I have 1 gap at the bottom and im kinda lost at what to put on it.

thank you. that might not be a bad idea.

I'll look more into this concept.

As for today, i got my package from petras.

Unfortunately, my 2 raptors havent arrived yet, so this project might get pushed back til next week on the build.

    On another note:
Gotta love petras, it takes a lot of work to hand write a simple letter even. Quoc and Alex, you guys are the best!

Haha, same with me but not too much, I would clean it off, I even would reorganize my system every week just to look clean but then I don't like it and I would do it again. I even replace my Liquid Cooling Tubes 3 times just to look good. Haha, yea its crazy. Anyways, that system will look nice when its build, I am sure you will get MB temperature.

    having problems with my setup.

The EK 250 isnt long enough to prevent cyclones. So it pulls the top about 4 inches. I'll try to take some pics to show exactly what i mean.

But i might end up swapping both my EK's for MCRes.

Try adding water as the pump is pumping IE filling up the cyclone.
