impressive numbers there , can one use a sli bridge for cf ?or is it still with the dongle? does cf run on striker ? or just 975 boards . does one get an adapter for the 8 pin molex in the retail verstions ? or do we need to change psu again . i heard one cant get overdrive to work ,if you dont have the 8 pin set on.

A new version of Crossfire was introduced with the x1950 Pro I believe. It uses
bridges that look like the SLi ones but are not identical. So no, can't use SLi
bridges on the newer ATI CF cards.

AFAIK, CF does not work on nVidia chipset boards.

1.- SLI Bridge no. As Neptunes said, there is new CF version, which uses 2 bridges in order to operate instead of dongle (this started with X1950 Pro).

2.- Striker no CF, because has 680i chipset

3.- 975 Boards, 965p boards, rd600 boards can use CF

4.- I think I saw an 6 to 8 pin adapter in coolaler forums for the GPU, so, probably no change for PSU

5.- Where do you hear that?

Yes you need the 8-Pin for Overdrive to function or be activated more like it but its not nessisary if you wish to use 3rd Party clocking tools.

Good to know. So basically you don't need the 8-pin connector if
your running the card at stock, right?

What's the power consumption level of this card compared to the
    8800 GTS/GTX cards?

No but you can still overklock with 2 6-pin connectors too. And it's about 30W more then a GTX at load @ stock.

It's not easy to bench 2900 on liqiud nitrogen. But it gets easier after about 40 mins when the pot have been coold for a while. I think 1240-1260MHz is max for this kind of cooling and hardware.

    CPU on air @ 3700MHz

I'd say its time to design a more efficient pot

So this is the long awaited competition for NV. A couple of questions:

    - how are the VRM's on the card acting at such high load ? The GTX/Ultra takes less power and already the onboard VRM is not doing too well.
    - any chance for a detailed 3DM01 score ? ATI was always strong in system tests but now i see the fillrate tests are good also, so i think it can beat the G80 in '01.
