Just shut it off and power it again.

OK, I am getting frustrated. I just "upgraded" to E6400 L629 and I decided to replace the pins on the heatsinks. This is how it looks:

The problem is that i have temps like 48-60-62-61-50*C, with a Nexus DF1209SL-3 (9 cm, 1500 RPM) on the PWM heatsink. I tried 4 times to remount it, but the results were similar. I put the plastic pins back and had something like 70*C in IDLE. All there temps are in IDLE, with stock voltages.
Now, the issues is: CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND ME SOME HEATSINK FOR PWM?!?! I want to get Noctua NC-U6 or TR HR-05 for the NB, but the PWM is a real problem.

And another problem: is there any overclocking tool for this board? uGuru is fvcking my head.

Thanks in advance for who has a solution for me.

try to cut your termal tape on PWM to pieces( on size of a one PWM chip) and put them one by one on each chip.I do that i my PWM is now 44-44-44-42-43 ,before that it was up to 100 in load

u guys got any advice for me? im on aircooling but i think 450mhz should be no problem, right?
try using single stick single channel

    try bumping vichio to 1.6
nah, didnt help. i guess it's because im running bios 11

which would be better, b6r? will i be ok using winflash or do i have to boot to dos?

    I also have v1.1. Works fine with E6400 L629A @ 450*8 (3600 MHz) with stock voltages.

Even better, that means it's faster.

I had B6R before this, but I was running with E4300, so I can't help you.

Nah, just my regular 8800gtx card, am always using a ps2->usb adapter for my ust keyboard and
just added a floppy drive thats all and then it worked like a charm, still kinda wierd that abit has chosen to keep the floppy drive and not cd or a usb mem for rescue boot drive.

korby: To me it seems like your board is bent a little as your PWM1 and 5 are fine in temps but 2,3 and 4 are not. For me it got a bit bent when seating the CPU-cooler.
I solved this by adding support under the backplate for the CPU. For me it was best if the support was in that corner of the CPU that is closest to the LAN-port. This is on the BACKSIDE of the mobo.

I just did a quick 3DMark06-run. All on air, GFX unmodded with stock cooler: 14746p

I think the performance of this motherboard is rather good.

It may be, but I already seated the cooler. Scythe Infinity with this modification on the retention system. I think I must try again... Those knobs are a real pain in the a$$.

But I stilll want a new heatsink.

It's straight, darn it, already checked. And this problem appeared only after I installed the E6400. Ppfffff... I guess I realy must mount it again.

PS: LOL, that's an expensive rug, jonnyguru thought that I live in a casino.

Seems to me that this mobo tops out between 450-470fsb, unless your are one of the lucky ones that get a cherry that does 525+. Wish the boards were more consistent. Seems like the DFI P965-S Dark is the best way to go for E63xx cpu's. And a lot cheaper too..... I am quite dissapointed with this board after all the hipe it got.

Well lets look at some of mine results with this mobo
max fsb validation is 505fsb -out of box
    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=195995

    max spi32m with e6600,1.59v

    max spi1m

Its interesting that i cant reach 4ghz with this board whatever i do, but with Commando i can go up to 4.1ghz and 4064mhz spi1m stable.
Btw that results are with no tweaks

I have replaced the stock chipset heatsink by a Noctua NC-06.

And now I have problems running 400 FSB ,or even less with 1.25 Vmch (even above), whereas with the stock cooler I ran at 420FSB at 1.25Vmch ...

I don't understand what's going on. I've already made tried to check the heatsink is in place and everything ....

What are you using to cool the PWM?

really? I didn't notice any hissing noises on the boards that I've had. The EVGA board was totally apparent.
