To compete with this highly overclocked uber part from nVidia R600 would need to be clocked around 1.2GHz... Who knows if it can...

Not that bad if manufacturer states 750-800MHz in given TDP range Thats like saying 800MHz is guaranteed on this card no matter what (even with 2x6pin power connectors, obviously blocked by graphics card BIOS).
