I am currently searching for the dimensions of the base of this cooler :

Thanks.
PS: My idea is to make it a chipset cooler for eVGA nF680 mobo![]()

I was actually thinking the same thing the other day.
U have such a nice and clear image I'm sure you can get your answer from it.
If you look below using the capacitors as a reference you can see for yourself how big the base is.
The caps should b 1CM in diameter

I just have this pic..
I apreciate the lenght to 80 mm almost and width to half of it, but I have to find exact width :/

you can see by clicking on thumbs larger version of base.
sry i edited my post b4 i saw ur replies

1cm for caps not too large ?
in fact, 5.5 cm is enough to mod the cooler to fit ..
Oooops my bad judging by the dimensions of the sink i think those weren't the 1cm caps.
Infact these are the 1cm caps.

The idea is definately not wrong.
The only thing that is wrong is the size that i've guessed that caps to be.
So you can always find something else on the board to compare it to.
for example if u knew the exact size of the socket.

Ya, good idea, but not sure of scale..
i think u made a little mistake in that picture btw
the website says length is 89mm not 85
since you already have the dimensions of the overall cooler.
You can probably easily judge the size by either using photoshop and just draw a line and just divide the percentage of pixels by the total size.
Or since usb and other input sockets are standard you could use one of those input sockets at the bottom, measure them in RL then cut & paste like i did with the caps.

Ok so i just did the photoshop thing myself and these are the numbers of pixels that are across each section.
First off we know the width is 85mm so we can use this as our scale.
Since the total measurement is 125 and that section of the base is 70
70/125 = 0.56
so that makes 56% and since the total width is 85mm therefore the base across is
0.56 x 85 = 47mm
The base top down is 105 and compare that to the total width (our total measurement).
105/125 = 0.84
gives us 84% of the width which is 85mm therefore
0.84 x 85 = 71mm
So the dimensions are 47mmx71mm since these measurements are subject to a bit of distortion because the camera was taken up close the real dimensions are probably 45mm by 70mm.
If you actually look again at the caps i said were 1cm it would suggest that I was right the 2nd time and those were really 1cm.

for me numbers are wrong, where do you found 125 ?
website spec talk about 140 x 85 x 89 ...
For SURE, I know that the width of the ACTUAL base is about 3CM, due to the 6MM heatpipes, and a 2mm (approx.) space between them.

I BLEED TOXIC GREEN
omg man wutever don't believe me
u can go ahead and buy it first if you want and i'll bet you it is 45mm by 70mm
125 is the number of pixels across the heat sink which the website says is 85mm....
