Now ~week when the board makes this "beeps", after i put one of 8000UL dims in the firs black ram slot, the system stared up fine, but now this method with single DIM doesnt helped me .

    Any suggestions?

PS : Sorry for my english, i hope you will understand.
What bios are you running? I've been having similar problems since I flashed to 1901. For me, leaving the system with the PSU switched off over night usally fixes it. It's extremely annoying though!

Does anyone know where I can find the 170X bios? I can't see it on Asus' website.

Edit: Woops, sorry. I need to get some glasses, it seems :P

1:1 divider will be DRAM Frequency = 2x FSB

    So 667mhz if at 333fsb.

Try using the 4:5 memory divider so where it says mem speed is 667 change it so it says 833 your memory should handle the little overclock no problem

lol, 1:1 means the DRAM frequency is twice the fsb. You can't have DDR2-800 with 1:1 unless using 400Mhz FSB. You need 4:5 at 333 FSB to hit 833 Mhz ram

Have you read any of the recent post on this thread? The latest BIOS is 2004 but depending on what you have and what setting u use its whatever works best for u with your setup as there does not appear to be a lot of difference from 1602-2004. Check the post for peoples different opinions and take your pick. Me - I like 1707 as its never caused me any issues and I get a good stable o.c.

    NO IDE Master H.D.D. Detected

    Hi All,

I just installed the Win XP on my new P5W DH on a SATA HD connected to SATA 3 (Black). A really annoying thing is that everytime it boots up, a message showing:
"NO IDE Master HDD Detected" and I have to press F1 to continue.

Do anyone know how to fix this? I can boot up fine but it's just very nagging. I searched everywhere and couldn't find a solution. Probably plugging the drive to SATA 1(Red) will fix it but my HR-05 totally blocked it

    Thanks!

RTM, put the drive on the port indicated as boot in the manual. (Sata 1 = boot disk) page 2-34.

EDIT: you did answer your own question.

In the bios under boot/boot configuration, disable the press F1 in case of error.

    Hope this helps

    Hello !

I'm Spanish, sorry by my bad english.

Nowadays, I have a ASUS P5W DH Deluxe with 2Gb GSKILL PK's, but the problem is that this motheboard don't detect very well the timmings of this memory and I "only" can do 410*8 = 3280 Mhz.

I would like to do 430 or 435*8 and I think this Motheboard can do this because if I put the memory with a divider I hit this frequency without any problems.

Do you know what memories can do it without problems ?

    Thank you very much

Thanks! I did know about this solution but it is said to suppress all the other might-be-useful alerts in case of an error too. But I guess I've got to do it if there's no better way.

On the side note, what the hell should be done to let drives be recognized as "2nd/3rd/4th" IDE MASTER? Any jumper setting will do? It seems that anything connected to the SATA 3/4 will be recognized as SLAVE (don't know about SATA 1, EZbackup and JMicron one)

i have the same problem. i have my raid 0 raptors connected to the ez raid ports. my other 2 devices are in the black ports. whether i change them around or not about 80% of the time my system boots i get this message. if i hit f1 to continue it goes nowhere cause this only happens when it doesn't properly detect 4th ide master. 4 ide master is of course the raid 0 drive. i just hit reset until it sees it and then it loads windows no sweat. i basically can't oc right now cause it's too much of a pain in the ass when 80% of my boot ups error and require an additional reboot anyway.
