By the way thanks stephen for letting me know about your modules and also for posting those links. I had my kit not too long ago but overall wasn't very impressed so I returned them for refund, with that said I think there are many others who have had awesome results with the PC2-8000HZ's!
Mwave has been around for years, think of them as a lower profile newegg. I was buying from both when Newegg was relatively the same size and profile, but newegg tookoff like crazy. Mwave seems exactly the same 7 years later.

    @Stephen23

Thanks for your post on the G.Skill HZ's.
I just received my replacement 6400 HZ's and noticed the PCB was black and I was sure the dead ones (RMA'd) were green.

Unfortunately I can't push them very far due to CPU cooling issues (good ducted TTBT air setup, good general air flow, but no RAM cooling) but given that the temp in my office has dropped by about 7c, I could try to push them a little further than their current 1:1 438 4-4-4-12 2.1v (suggestions welcome ).

I'm still a little unsure which are/were better; the original Green PCB version or the replacement Black PCB version?

    Cheers

color of PCB doesnt mean better/worse

    brainpower also makes blackPCB now.

I was just under the impression that the PCB was an indication of the actual chips and hence performance (I am not willing to remove the heatspreaders, especially given that the last ones just died and I wouldn't have been able to replace them I had done this.)

I can tell you black and green PCB are the same as I have tested on both of them unless you got the ballistix one like my 8000 HZ
there is a "levin" wording at the end of the PCB for the ballistix one like my 8000 HZ.

This pic is normal 6400 HZ that I got both green and black PCB:

which don't have "Levin" on it
    both performs the same.

this pic is the 8000HZ that I got:

which got thr "levin" on it:

This pair ROCKS as it is ballistix actually.

Well I'll be damned, Kemo was right again! GKX baby, alright who wants my RAM, lol! Thanks Irev for giving us all a sneak preview, much appreciated! What is interesting is that Momo over at Guru3D got two kits which are both GMH (no big deal, both very high-bin from results)! We're eagerely awaiting your results whenever you get to them Irev!

Nice although ive had more luck with GMH then GKX so far it seems. Stil searching for a kit that does 32M 600mhz at cas4 on 965 chipset, hope this wil be the one.

loc.o. your Celly's won't do CAS4 @ 1200Mhz? What are your max clocks @ CAS4 with them? I've been testing mine all day (GKX) and can't even get through 1M at 1150Mhz @ 4-4-4-12? I am very stable though at 1140Mhz at same timings which is pretty decent I guess. Like you I've also had better luck with GMH, my last kit of Ballistix (8000's) were stable at 1150Mhz @ 4-4-4-5 on 2.35v (but of course sold them like an idiot), lol!
