what happened with the x300? it'd help to detail it a little bit.
The displays plugged in it never produced an image of any kind, while on the secondary pci-e slot. When I tried it on the primary pci-e slot, it worked just fine.

Aren't 7100gs a little outdated already for gaming? Even though I'm not looking for crossfire setup, I do like to game every one in a while. X1950pro has been plenty of gaming power for me.

Thank you for taking your time and helping me out.

I don't think I understand. You already have a primary card and just want to add something to have a third monitor with that can do aero right? So gaming shouldn't have anything to do with it.

Also, when you were talking about not getting an image, did you boot to windows and install drivers for the second card and then extend your desktop to it?

    No. it does not.
It supports Crossfire ATI's version of 2 video cards running together.

It can be tricky, you need to start reading about the two.

Even if you can crossfire. It only runs the 2nd card at 4x. It's not full dual 16x lanes.

Hey folks. I've flashed my BIOS with 1901 however I have trouble cold booting into Windows XP Pro. The computer loads into Windows fine after a warm boot but It always fails on a cold boot. I have recently purchased a new SATA II Seagate harddrive which I run Windows from but I doubt it is the problem and also the S.M.A.R.T status for this drive doesn't state anything out of the ordinary. I've seen a thread about this on the Asus forums (clicky) but there doesn't seem to be a solution.

This morning I tried booting into Windows, the room temp is around 15c. First off the windows loading screen appeared and a second later my screen turned black, everything remained on. I restarted and this happened again. I went into BIOS and reviewed my settings, mostly everything is default and nothing has been overclocked. I tried starting up again and selected the "use recommended configuration that worked last time". This is seriously getting a on my nerves. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I did not know they had a BIOS with 1901. When I go to the site the latest I see is BIOS 1101.

what does cpuz say? in task manager, you can set it to show a composite cpu load.

more importantly, go in your device manager and expand computer. is it uniprocessor or multi? when you switch cpu's, it might not change and that'd be why.

The most important thing IMO is to decide if what u have is hardware or software issue.
Does the PC bench as D-805 ?
Does the D-805 show and work properly on another system ?

    I got it:

The problem is in hal.inf( because i am using a portable windows xp sp2-www.usboot.org)

The author has told me to make the following changes in hal.inf:

    %ACPIAPIC_MP.DeviceDesc% = ACPIAPIC_MP_HAL, E_ISA_UP, MPS_UP, MPS_MP, ACPIPIC_UP, ACPIAPIC_UP, ACPIAPIC_MP ; ACPI APIC-based PC (MP)

    Thanks for your replies

    Hey Guys

I am having boot issues with my new P5B Deluxe board bought at Fry's. This board seems to have an older BIOS, and it won't boot up. It does the double boot if its a cold boot (after disconnecting power), and after that all fans are on, led on board is RED, no startup beep, no post screen etc.

I have tried different RAM in different slots, 1 and 2 sticks (Corsair 6400 2GB Kit, and some DDR2 3200 400MHZ borrowed from work <-- does this RAM work on P5B?), different video card, and I have also unplugged all other peripherals other than Video card and RAM, and the same issue happens with no beep sound and no post screen.

I also did the CMOS jumper reset, with no success, I think I am going to try a stick of PC4200 or PC5400 of DDR2 and if that doesn't help, RMA the board .

Please let me know if you have experienced the same issue, and the different things you tried.

    Thanks a lot in advance!

This board should be new, the box did not have any of the return stickers on it, and I carefully inspected the board's mounting holes, and there was no sign of prior use or mounting.

The BIOS is definitely old, I am not exactly which version of BIOS it has, I haven't tried using another CPU, I will see what I can do about that, I will try a E6300 and some DDR2 5400 Ram before I call it quits and RMA or return and get another board .

no boot usually means bad cpu .
or , cpu might have an issue with the bios because it isn't recognised
    or , "simply" bad mobo

Or it may have a hard time trying to boot because this board is known to not like memory with low vdimm. Try with one memory stick and see if it boots, then up the vdimm to at least 2V or higher.

p5b dlx revision 1.10g and 4gb of ram

do any of you have the p5b dlx revision 1.10g boards and 4gb of ram and qx6700 cpu?

i have built 2 systems this week with 4gb of ram and dual boot systems with xp pro and vista 64bit. in the bios i enabled the remap so i see 4gb of ram and vista 64bit is happy but xp pro is only showing 2gb.
normaly with the remap enabled i see 3.2gb in xp pro.
if i disable the remap i do get 3gb in xp pro.
on older versions of the p5b dlx with remap enabled or disabled i see about 3.2gb

    the bios version is 1101.
