So I just got this badboy up and running and was wondering if the the Command rate (1T/2T) can be adjusted.
Yeah le doublé bootage IS a problem.
No 1 T command rate on commando. Better check in with Striker if ur looking for memory options beyond "standard" great voltage on commado Vdimm though as long as you don´t kill your ram like i did. Kill as in burn.

Thanks, is 2T command rate just a "feature" of the 965 chipset? Is it adjustable on 975X?
It's not a deal killer for me other than providing insight. Thanks for tolerating my noob questions.

My rig does the doubletake reboot issue when I start up from a cold boot... when the computer is fully off![]()
I wonder if this will be fixed in newer bios's to come
What bios are you using?
I am using 060x that comes along with the board.
Weird thing is the constant reboot now comes along with a short beep. It even does that when windows is shutting down.
Anyone had the same issue?
Just want to check with everyone, if everything is stable, should the board sound off any beep?
Hmmm... are you using a fan controller with built-in alarm?
I ask because my rig shows the same behaviour, but is not the MB that beeps, is the fan controller's "swan song" so to speak.
When the power cuts off the last thing the fan controller does is try to "raise the alarm".
And for the record I agree with uOpt, the "doubletake" glitch is not healthy. I'm using an external 12v PSU to run my pump atm, because she doesn't particularly like this cut-off and restart business. And if I'd make her unhappy enough to cease operation the consequences would be too ghastly to discuss.
Usually OC-ing involves a countless number of changes in BIOS settings, and changing many parameters in one go to avoid it never yielded me good results, so I hope it's somethig that can be fixed in future revisions on the BIOS, and not part of the MB's design.

hmm.. I am not using any fan controller but this scenario occurs the moment I switched over to watercooling and during post, it will indicate cpu fan not detected. So I just simply plug in one of the fan to the cpu fan pin. After that, I keep hearing the 'beep' after the reboot whenever I changed settings in the bios. Now it even extends to shutting down of windows.
Like you, I have to power up my pump and fans with a second psu.![]()
No need for a fan to be on cpu pin. In bios set cpu fan to ignored in hardware monitor.
Yeah I do not get the beep... it probably is a warning of some type
I am running 0803 bios and I think it also happends in 0902 ?
it only happends when OCing or when I turn off the power switch on my PSU![]()
I am in serious trouble. I don´t understand how I can get back the same old problems I had with my old system while every single part is new???
I have really sucky cooling. Running at 3,5 and above made the temps go above 70... Didn´t feel comfortable with that. So to get decent temps I stayed with 3,1 gig at 1,2 V... It could pass Orthos even and everything was dandy.
But I noticed a few days ago I got distortion in my sound. Sound drivers corrupted reinstall fixed that...
Also Then I started to get some spontaneous reboots at times. Bluescreen followed by reboot???
Increasing voltage on CPU didn´t do nada if anything it made the problem worse lol.
Last time I got a real scare because I wouldn´t get a picture loading XP. Though I could see my keyboard wheel and such light up.
It would often hang upon recognizing my Raptors. However I have tested those and haven´t been able to find any fault on them?
Anyway Clearing CMOS was the only thing that helped me going back.
On my last computer it corrupted my installation so heavilly it couldn´t be loaded. The DFI would also loose several of my harddrives... Feels kind of strange that I would get several hard drive failures at once. Especially since they appear to be working great for periods lol.
But anyway would you think this is mainboard oriented or what? With the DFI I had to run everything absolutely everything at default settings. Do that on the Commando currently but would suck to be limited on 2,4 gig on a CPU that can do 3,6 with ease with proper cooling...
Also no 1T timings that is quite disappointing for a gamerMy LCD TV has enough input lag as is already...

Now another weird problem after getting the 'beep'.
I was orthos stable at 340*9(3.06ghz), ram 4:5, and getting 3dmark01 score of 52xxx. After changing to water and getting the 'short beep' each time the system reboot, score now 48xxx. Even running at 3.45ghz orthos stable, it will generate score of only 53xxx.
GPU at 610/1025.
I am seeing similar drop in 3dmark06 even though I observed lower superPI score.
Anyone having same problems?

Probably you are running now with PCI-e at 1x. Check it with cpu-z
Anyone with the BUZZ try the RMA?
I noticed that when I started running at 380FSB, I started to hear a high pitched tone. Is that what the buzz is?

What is best for 24/7 use?
1: FSB 400 x 9 = 3600MHz - Mem 4:5 @ DDR1000 CL 4-4-4-4 - 1066 Strap
2: FSB 515 x 7 = 3605MHz - Mem 1:1 @ DDR1030 CL 4-4-4-4 - 1333 Strap
What option is best and why ?
I've tried both but I cant decide what is best for me...
Workstation >>> ASUS P8P67 WS Revolution :: Intel Core i7 2600K @ 4.5GHz - 1.29v :: 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz CL8 :: ASUS GTX 580 DIRECTCU II :: Creative X-Fi Titanium HD :: 80GB Intel X25-M G2 :: 4 x 150gb Velociraptor [RAID-0] :: 1TB Western Digital Black

Run some tests, compare them and choose whatever suits you best. 3D, superpi etc.
Option 1 seems best from a parts longevity standpoint but since this is XS, everybody here seems to upgrade every quarter anyways.

I am getting an E6320 to play with. What do you guys think- Commando, P5B Deluxe Wifi, or DFI 965 Infinity?
