    My cpu
    3420 (9x380) on RD600...1.4625 bios but 3508(9x 390) need 1.51875....kinda lot of vcore for 90mhz

    SHould i leave my vFSB and vMCH/ICH as it is now? What's the typical range of vFSB and vMCh for you guys?

    Just tried vcore = 1.3750, vfsb = 1.325, vmch = 1.575
    Results: Orthos small blend = failed after 54 mins, OCCT = stable, XP = stable, super pi = stable

    cpu need more voltage to run small fft which stress cpu the most

    from what I have seen here your vfsb/vmch look ok

    One more thing from what i have read the best OCing bios is 2333....

    i got mine at homedepot. couple bucks
    radioshack should have them too.
    this may seem really noobish..but how do you wire the switch to make this mod work?

    My Vmch and Vfsb are both one notch above default (not sure the actual values). Orthos small is pretty temperature dependant also - if you can bring the temps down a touch you might not to need any more voltage, that's how I fixed mine. At some point you'll have to decide how stable you need it to be - if it runs orthos blend okay, and occt, and it doesn't crash in windows or games or whatnot, then maybe you just call it stable and live with it, even if it does fail orthos small.

    You're Vcore is still at default which is why C1E is lowering it.

Even in dual channel or in normal mode it will not boot with 2 sticks. Every stick i have tried works fine on its own. It is running perfect and stable now with 1 stick.
    Try your 1 stick in each of the slots just to see if all the slots are OK.

    Sounds like it may be a voltage problem. I.E. not enough juice to run more than 1 stick. Do you have a multimeter? You might want to check the Vdimm.

    3 pins on the MB header wire directly to the 3 pins on the switch.

    This is not for the 975 on the BadAxe2?
    I installed this one. Then I went down the page a little and found this one.

    What is key towards increasing the multiplier? I'm running now at 310*11, and increasing my multi to 12 makes me unable to boot into windows. Just hangs at the loading bar until I'm greeted with a BSOD. Increasing voltages makes me see the loading bar a wee bit longer.

    My temps are fine (around 40C, under 70C @ load) and can't quite fanthom what's holding me down. Memory and such shouldn't be affected by increasing the multi right?

    Also, not being able to get over 330FSB is annoying, but my memory can't take that at 4-4-4-12 anyways.

    PCI Burn in

    i have this set at default... however, i get a tad bit of studder/flicker when panning around during games.. not sure if its the new nvidia drivers or my low refresh rates or what...

    but someone had told me that he had the same issues with the same card, and when he up'd his PCI to 105 the problem went away.
    reading some stuff earlier in this thread sounds like i can increase a little.. but 105 sounds too much.

    can someone explain what the PCI burn option does? im scared to move it. what is acceptable range?

    additionally, i have my 8800 oc'd a bit. will this make a differance?

    thanks!

    The older is for the 975X chipset, which is being used by the BX2 board. The newer is not useful for you.

    OK finally stable at this

    vcore = 1.3875
    vfsb = 1.300
    vmch/vich = 1.550
    FSB = 345X9 @ 3105
    Idle temp = 42-45C
    Load Orthos = 55-60C
    Orthos stable = 8hrs blend ok/9hrs small fft ok, SuperPi = ok, OCCT = 30mins blend ok, XP = stable, memtest86+ = 3hrs ok

    1. Are my temps ok ? Used to be lower but it rose by 3-5C after i changed the position of my HSF. Need to in order to install my Thermalright HR-05 nb cooler
    2. Given my temp and the rate i'm going, would it be advisable to increase vcore to say 1.5 to reach my goal of 3.6Ghz?

    Many thks in advance

    Load Orthos = 55-60C
    I have exactly the same setup as you, same voltages, same fsb.

    for referance, my idle temps are around 20-22. my load temps typically dont go above 38ish.

    i cant tell if you if its "too high" but given your voltage, it seems high.

    reading some stuff earlier in this thread sounds like i can increase a little.. but 105 sounds too much.

    can someone explain what the PCI burn option does? im scared to move it. what is acceptable range?

    additionally, i have my 8800 oc'd a bit. will this make a differance?

    thanks!
    It's another badly named BIOS feature. Basically, it's overclock for the pci express bus. You can't do any permanent harm so tweak it and see what happens.

    OK..my board is at my house....

    so as I understand it ..I will need to boot with jumpers in maintenance mode...turn off EIST/C1E and watchdog depending on board revision(ie bios)

    I have cd to load up bios 2333 as this seems to be the best OCing bios(sans stupid HDD led issue..never plug this in anymore)

    is it worth swapping the NB cooler?

    This thread is terrific alot of very helpful people....I just hope I can get e6600@ 3500(9x390) and 490 on my ram(like my first RD600)
    My crucial 10th anniv ran very nicely on the first one at 5-6-5-5-2t at 2.2v....
