those poor RAMs just took a beating

but sadly same results as my P5B Deluxe. i believe 960 was max stable. the max BIOS boot was 990, i couldn't get them to boot any higher than 990. they booted into login screen at 990 but froze. 960 through 990 were tested at 2.40vdimm bios 993 was tested from 2.40 - 2.6vdimm with no go.

well it turns out i ordered these onger ago than i thought. Feb 19, 2007 was the order date from Newegg.com

I could only get this kit up to about 960mhz.

i DO NOT recommend taking off the heatspreaders on these either, this was THE toughest heatspreaders i've removed SUCESSFULLY. i've run into worse but ripped off the ICs in the process. which could easily happen with this kit if you haven't done it before.

So true. Ive taken the spreaders of loads of dimms before and the first one that actually died on me was a GBHZ. It has D9GMH on though, only not all of them anymore

slim142, based on what you have posted, I don't think the RAM is your problem. I recently had a 6600 that absolutely would NOT run 400fsb, regardless of Vcore.

However, if your memory is not capable of running spec, we will gladly replace it for you. Is there any way you can test it, or have it tested on a system known to run FSB400+?

Not really Yellowbeard. I would like to test this memory with 400mhz FSB on other machine but unfortunately, I dont have anybody that I know with a system I can test.

However, there are other reasons why Im replacing my Corsair RAM. First, I want a good overclockeable RAM and because I heard nothing but good things from G.Skill, I wanna give it a try. Second, I need 2Gb of RAM and this pack of G.Skill is a deal I cant let it go. Finally, what better than a 2Gb pack of RAM at 4-4-4-12 timings with Micron D9GMH?

The current Corsair RAM I have is already an RMA. It is a second RMA and unfortunately, Corsair sent me proMOS revision when the one I first bought had Micron D9GMH so it kinda pisses me.

And yes, Im starting to think that is the CPU. I had it booting at 400mhz but I needed an insane amount of vcore (1.62v and it was inestable), I might sell it and then buy a Xeon which has given good results to most people.
