Hi
I'm using bios 1503 does this have the multiplier unlocked for the QX6700 quad core cpu, or will i have to upgrade??
Gigabyte EX58-UD5, I7 930 @ 4.2Ghz, Patriot Viper 6GB, W/C CPU & GPU, GTX480 SLi W/C, 3D Vision Surround, Intel X25-M 80GB, SB Xfi Titanium pro, Corsair AX1200, CM HAF932, Win 7 64
Guys i have problem with my ecc fatbodies. There is no option in bios.I can see it at first boot (when i have cleared cmos) but no option in bios. Moreover it disappears when i reboot.I found that others have the same problem here, but the problem still remains. Can anyone help me with this?
Ram is fine and tested with a lot of boards (six p5wdh and work fine with three of them).
anyone know what the 2004 bios's does it dont say nothign on asus site either
bios 2004 working fine for me![]()

I am running an e6600 @3.6 and use the wi-fi solo to connect to my netgear DG834G no problems at all - It is an integrated wifi mini card after all. It has options to use as an access point or station so its your choice how u use it - the limitation is that it is only 802.11g - 54mb.
I personally have found BIOS 1707 the most stable I have tried when overclocking - I haven't gone up to any of the later releases as they do not appear to offer anything new if not movong to Vista.

Well best of luck to you - I would look at what BIOS LAWRYWILD is using then as he does a lot of testing - I think he is on 1901.
Personally I will give Vista sometime to get the early bugs out of the way and the drivers available - I like playing my games without hitches!.

Any that gets a yellow exclamation point for unknown device called:

Needs to pop in their P5WDH Deluxe CD and XP will install ATK0110 ACPI Utility under System Devices automatically. I am not sure why this is needed but it is in order to fix the problem. Please keep in mind I have AHCI installed and working when I did this. I am not sure if this will work if you don't have it enabled out not but IMO it shouldn't matter. If it doesn't install the update automatically when you insert the disc then go:
Software\AIBooster\Acpi\WIN2000

the ATK0110 virtual device is needed for aibooster or setfsb.

Can anyone send me a profile with ecc option in bios,so i can solve my problem here?
Can't you set it to enable on first boot after clearing cmos? Does it disappear when you reboot after setting to enable?

I can see ecc at boot screen after clearing cmos, but there is no option in bios.If i reboot there is no ecc even at boot screen. If someone send me a profile with ecc in bios,i think i'll be fine.
Unfortunately this has happened to 3 of 6 p5wdh i had.It worked with taiwan pcb,but not with china.I don't know if this is bad luck or not. Both dimms work surely fine..
I don't think a profile will fix it. As soon as you reboot from setting the profile the ECC will disappear I'd imagine.

No!if you load the profile with ecc,the option will stay.I've done it with one of my previous boards, but i don't have any saved profile now!
Why are you shouting at me?

Just found something I didn't know about, when controlling the cpu fan with the mobo bios settings and you select silent mode with Vcore above auto it runs the fan at full 12v (this I already knew about and was kinda annoying..) but I just tried settings Optimal which I thought would just set 12v aswell anyway, but its actually at 5v with my cpu at 100% load in windows(vcore above auto obviously). This is in DC mode (don't know about PWM fans).

I checked core temp too so it was a correct reading. im running on 3333ghz. Is this normal. Considering orthos had been on for 1hour + and 55 on load was highest i saw.
