    mine does the same thing..

Also, my sound sometimes goes out.. only by rebooting does it come back. This happens once every week or two.

Aside from that, very happy with the board.

    E4300@3.3ghz

Everything else is rock solid stable except the monitoring tool and thats only sometimes. I can play WoW for 12 hours straight without any issues.

Try OCCT, it is pretty stressful as well.

This happens if you open cpu-z. Once you open cpu-z, the hardware detail in IDU hangs. It has been stated in this thread several times....

I have raid enabled in the bios and i'm on the intel controllers.

i originally installed windows with the RAID drivers as I knew that I would be adding 2x36GB Raptors as RAID eventually.

However, in windows, I do not see my newly created "raptorraid" volume.

When I use intel matrix storage console, the raptors show up as being in raid, the status is normal, system volume says "no"... and this is what i can't figure out. Shouldn't system volume say "yes"?

Well if you could help me find my missing raptor raid and possibly move my windows from my 250GB to my new raid array, that'd be great as well.

    thanks!
System Volume: "No" is fine. Just means that Windows didn't boot from there. Use Windows Disk Management to see if the volume shows up. It probably will but you'll need to create a partion on it for the rest of Windows to see it.

I'm not sure if I can help with moving Windows XP (assuming that's what you're running). With Vista it's easier because you can boot from the CD to a command prompt and do a massive xcopy. Have you looked at tools like Ghost?

but i went ahead and just reinstalled windows on to my raided raptors.

    glad i didn't sell this board. it's a nice 24/7 setup.

never breaks 55C with TAT. 34C idle of recent. about 23-25C in my room.

Chip is fully lapped, I lapped the base of the enzotech over. and properly applied the thinnest layer of AS5 i could to the pipes and Al heatsink. Liquid Pro was used for the processor though. Delta fan is on low-mid. Full speed I can hit 30-31C.

For Orthos, what's the best priority level to set when testing it? All this while i have been using 1 as a testbed. IS it possible to do an Orthos test in the background while i'm surfing the net, games, etc ?

1 is fine. others say to use 9. and yes it's possible to surf and game. the only thing that happens is that clocks cycles are taken away from orthos and used by the game / whatever ap you are using since orthos usually gets lowest priority.

C1E is disabled in bios, yet is still on. So if I were to take that screenshot without something doing a load. It would have been 400 x 6 for 2.4ghz.

Nothing to do with teh OC only for the screenshots purpose did I want 3.6ghz 400x9

I use hiden Prime95. CPUZ shows 3700Mhz and there is nothing more on screen
Friends shouldn't let friends use Windows 7 until Microsoft fixes Windows Explorer (link)

so in other words, you need to keep a load when doing screenshots or else it underclock on idle. as long the frequency down scale is stable I really wouldn't mind it, as it will save processing power when idle. I myself will always keep a load on the rig as I run folding when pc becomes idle.

    yes, that is exactly it.

or you can use cpuz 1.38, TAT, and some other programs that only show the "loaded" cpu speed.

i just use RMclock to disable C1E at a software level in windows and that fixes everything (assuming i'm not folding).

Right, I however dont like the idea of throttling Id much rather it running at max the whole time.

It would be nice if C1E would truly disable, that said, it hasn't gimped my OC or had any adverse effects on it. I do lose a hair off my 1m time because of the time it takes the CPU to jump up to full speed from idle @ a 6x multi.

On other motherboards I could toggle power management on and off in windows by switching between "always on" to defeat it, and "minimal power management", to use it.

Well, just keep on mailing the Intel support staff like the rest of us
This C1E issue really sucks and should be fixed ASAP

has anyone had any issues with mushkin redlines and the bad axe2? I think one of my sticks is DEAD, since the board will only boot with one of the sticks and beeps 3 times with the other, which tells me it can't properly detect that stick. I wish had another pair of DDR2 ram. I guess it's time to buy a cheapo pair for testing purposes.

that jump shouldn't really take too much off your time as the load causes the cpu to get to max clock instantaneously.

as i stated before, just use RMclock to diasble C1E before you bench or run pi or whatever else u want to do.
