Anybody figure out the vdimm mod for this mobo yet? Since the mod is the same for the P4G8X and P4C, would it also be the same for the P4P?...thx
Same mod works on both P4C and P4P. Locate LM358 and connect pin 6 to GND (or to pin 4) via 50kOhm VR. Note that the LM358 is placed a bit differently on P4P.
heres a pic w/ Vdimm measurement:
Here are some better pics i took when i modded my p4p800...
I think they're self-explanatory.
Good luck!

Very easy and helpfull!! thanx OneProdigy

-Coz big boys will never stop playing!
Well...there's something strange i already noticed before doing the mod...
The dimm in bank B (both B1 and B2) gets freakin hot whereas the dimm in bank A (both A1 and A2) is barely hand warm!
When i switch the dimm in slot A with the one in slot B it's still the same...the on in slot B smokes (even when idle!) and A is merely warm to the touch.
Does anybody know the exact location on this mobo to measure vdimm for each dimm slot so i can find out if bank B possibly get's more juice than bank A?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for this info ! ! How should I ask the 50kohm resistance ? Is there something else besides the 50khom trimmer ?
We measure the voltage between the yellow marker that I see in the picture ?
Main Rig:C2D 6600ES @ 3.6G on water, Asus Maximus Formula Special Edition, Mushkin 4GB, HD2900XT, SB Fatality w/ Gigaworks S750, Killer NIC, 2xRaptors 150, Lian Li V2000, Dell 2407, DDR Maximizer, HiPro PSU 1200w.
At what resistance should I be seeing a change in voltage? I dropped all the way to 20ohm's and no change. I don't think I got good contact.
You should have measured with a multimeter the pot and see the two pins that give the correct measurement.. Those two are the ones that you need to solder....Originally posted by Spec3

I figured it out. Wasn't getting contact with the chip
Any idea how to get more than 3.2v on the vdimm?
thanks
noidster
OneProdigy kind of off topic, but what camera did you use to take those picutes, they came out very nice and when i tried to take pics like those today with my kodak 3.2MP camera it was just one big blur.
thats all what you have to do?!?!?!

Sorry for the delay!
It's a Fuji Finepix A202 (2.0 MPixels)...nothing special, but absolutely sufficient for my needs.![]()

how do u measure the vdimm voltage with a volt meter ...is it the red wire to that mosfet in the pic ...and the other black wire to ground? ...and then that shud show the vdimm voltage right?
Intel i7 930 @ 4.2Ghz 24/7

Asus Radeon HD 6990
Corsair Dominator GT 6GB
Corsair AX1200, 600T
Intel X25-M 160GB
Dell U3011 30" Monitor
The point for reading out vdimm is shown in the first pic...just grab a volt meter and hold it between this point and ground.

so yeah take the red probe put it to the spot in the picture and put the black probe to ground... i.e. the case or anywhere metal hehehe![]()

OneProdigy: Where did you take your wires(+47K)??
And after the mod, will you have the option(in the BIOS) to change it, or it will be something like: 2.8V=3.05V??
Thanks OneProdigy
I just transformed this:

Into this!!!!

VDIMM : 3.266V

OC till 50
Not bad man!
No problem, glad my pics were helpful to ya.
Those hynix-chips seem to be quite good oc'ers...aren't these the same chips that A-data and OZC put on their PC4000(+) modules?
If i may ask...where did you get these sticks from and what manufacturer is it?
@skate2snow:
1. I'm not quite sure what you mean...
One goes to ground and the other to pin6 of the LM358 regulator... (just take a closer look at the pics!)
2. Afaik - switched a few mobo's since i had it- the P4P800 doesn't show vmem in bios.
But of course you can still adjust vmem via bios.
Depending on the resistance of the pot 2.8 V in bios is 3.x V in real...that's why you should monitor your voltages closely via a voltmeter (at the two described points) when you first switch on your system after doing the mod.
