    Alu Sandra Memory Bench

can anyone run a sandra memory bench with all the mmx, sse and other memory fluff off so you can come up with a ALU (raw) memory bandwidth for either your dual core or quad core...

here is mine with MMX INTEGER, ENHANCED MMX INTEGER, SSE, SSE2, MMX FLOAT, ENHANCED MMX FLOAT, SSE2 FLOAT, SMT/HYPER-THREADING AND BUFFERING/BLOCK-PREFETCH all off.

    PS...my cpu is a Q6600@420 FSB..memory speed at 525 MHz....is doesn't matter if you have a dual core...just trying to see a comparison.

i am having a heck of a time in finding the ceiling on the quad-core with the latest beta bios....the multi works sometimes, and, it also goes down to 6x on its own even with EIST and thermal disabled in the bios.

i might flash back to see if there is any difference...i am not going to install vista (what a POS operating system)...i am staying with XP until i see SP1 out and how it improves things with vista.

Sorry Revv23 I was not around my computer for 3 days. When I was running 400 X 9 and 1T my RAM was at 2.3v. RAM is Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC2-8000 I have since then installed dual 5100rpm ball bearing fans on my RAM and it stays cool to the touch even when benching.

I think I will be upping voltage on the RAM and NB soon to see if I can get 1T stable in orthos. Ordering my NB cooler today. So hopefully will be lapping the tuniq/3060 and working on the NB/PWM cooling this weekend.

Will post any updates when there is more to tell.

Note: All of this is still on the boards original bios. Not changing until they have one that works with RAID and SATA optical together.

for any of the quad-cores on this board, i discovered the 1st beta bios is the performance bios for the quad....MAJOR difference between the latest beta B06 bios and the B02...everything excels...if you are not going vista, i would recommend you return to that bios (B02).

EDIT...the only thing might be the Raid issue with the 1st beta bios...i'll have to give that a try with B02.

vmch mod? what's max vmch you can do without mod? guess that'd be a reason to look forward to dfi for, 500+ on stock 1.25vmch and 1066strap. then again, 1t on dfi is ???

edit: also, have you tried turning on spread spectrum, if you have such an option? it's usually said to turn this off for best results, but I've found that my fsb max of 460 gets lifted to 520 if I turn on spread spectrum

Well, I have tried the B6 bios but I have trouble with the multipliers. It seems to jump between 6 and 9 with my E6600.

I can not register at the Abit-forum because I do not get any verification image when I try to register. Does anyone here have the B6 R bios?

Also, I have problems getting higher FSB than ~430MHz no matter what multiplier I set. For you guys getting ~500MHz, at what FSB do you boot and can someone recommend voltages for that boot?
I have tried to boot with 440-470MHz with the same result: the loading bar when windows starts works but after that is finished the screen get black and the computer hangs. No automatic reboot. vcore set to 1.5->1.7 and vmch 1.3->1.7v. RAMs are good enough.

I can not find Spread Spectrum in Abit bios. Asus has such function.

blossa - IMHO you give not enough volts to RAM.
If you want B6 R bios, send me your e-mail.
