i have no doubt that this cpu runs at 15x133, just check out the code. and if it doesnt run as is indesktop boards im sure its no big deal modding it.
i dunno. that page B5I8 linked to is on the AMD website. i'd tent to trust it more than a retailer. they probably saw XP2400 Barton and assumed it runs at the same speed as the XP2400 Tbred.

If you look closely at the pic....

The 3d L12 bridge has been zapped so

that does make the chip a 266 (133FSB)

    version.

aww that bastard stole my thunder! I wanted to post how I was the first one here to order one and I signed up just for that reason! ARGH! Neways, ordered one friday, will post results. Am looking for opinions about these bridges. Will I need to mod them? Also will employing the socket wire trick (used for 2400+ because of the 15x multiplier) in conjunction with this cpu work? Do I even need it (a.k.a do you think the cpu will be unlocked?) Also, if I don't take out the wire, could it in any way damage the cpu (don't think so because all it does is bridge pins?)? thanks, I'm psyched about this. Will put up for sale 2 cpus if this works. A 1700+ palomino for 30 (or 35 with quiet coolermaster heatsink), and a 2400+ retail thoroughbred (no heatsink for 70). Cya, and keep coming up with ideas/speculation on this processor. Could keep us mad overclockers content for some time

    pakotlar, WELCOME TO XTREME!!!

i really don't think you'll need to modify any bridges to get the CPU to work. i doubt the BIOS on desktop boards is set up to even read any of them.

the CPU should be unlocked like every other Tbred or Barton, but you can't tell for sure because newegg has that damn sticker on the CPU in the pics.

I already had one of this mobile CPU`s.
The 2500+ ( 1866Mhz ). It has default Vcore of 1,45 and was running in my Prommy @ only 2650 Mhz, so it was pretty poor for a Barton.
I sold it quikly , but i still have my screenshots i will post later, when back at home.

It has a perfect stepping, but it needed 1,7V on air for 3000+ speed. So this chip was worser then a 3000+ chip. Now my 3000+ makes 2850 Mhz in a Prommy.

I got it directly from AMD as test sample.

I thought about it but I didn't think I'd need THAT much speed

As for the Adata PC4000, due to the loose timings, it's better suited for Intel machines. It's designed for high FSB w/ loose timings
