One of those people is me. Fine so far, as I said on the official striker extreme topic, I see no changelogs/fixes/perfomance improvements in the zip file nor any webpage. Would really like to see one.
So far it looks the same as 1002.

Also, a guy reported that his nightmare ended! He had 2 pairs of Dominators PC8888 C4 and they are working nice now. So I really recommend to upgrade if you are a dominator user or 4 ram sticks user.

I still experience 0.02 to 0.04 vdroops. I think I will have to apply the vDroop mod soon.

In conclusion, this BIOS has been great so far and I hope my board doesnt die cuz I plan to squeeze all the juice on it.

Eva, I think you have a little homework here Would like to see what advantages this BIOS can bring to you. Im really interested to see some PCmark, 3dmark, SuperPi, Max FSB, Max Ghz Speed.

IIRC, in the past when ASUS have released a beta version, there was no "SE" in front of the version number of the BIOS.

I'm not saying that the 1004 isn't a beta, but if naming conventions mean anything, and ASUS is intentionally doing this, then the SE1004 should be an official release. ASUS download web site is so wonkey at times, I doubt that it's been updated to reflect this.

Yes, they usually dont put the SE when the file is a BETA. Since it has an SE now, it should be official and should be in the web probably today or monday at last. Samething happened with 0901.

Not really happy with the updates but if this improves the system, well is good. Dont really care about the german translation, XE support should have been done before, new microcode for what CPUS? Werent they included in BIOS 0701? And the vcore fix, it has been there since BIOS 1002, maybe they improved it.

Right now, testing my system to check the OC.

May be a fix for intel 1333FSB samples around.

works fine here, feels snappier than 1002, for the moment great stuff...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Right now at 345mhz FSB with 1.42vcore (1.45000 in BIOS O_o!) running orthos for 10 hours and DDR800 2.1v OC to DDR900 2.24v

Pretty happy with my system right now.

Woot!! I bought my striker a month ago but haven't bought the rest yet (needed it to plan out mods...) and last night I just started hearing about all the memory problems with it...

    Now this makes me happy

Is there any more success stories about Dominators working? I plan on using 8888C4DF 2 gig kit.

by far one of the best bios since 0402 for striker. more stable mem ratios. n lesser overvolt for other voltage options. ht, nb and sb.

still droops like the 1002 but i find they just changed the vid tables or sth cuz temps wise dun reflect. i put 1.65V i get lower temps that what i did using 0402. so i would say its lower than it reads or. last time its higher than what it reads.

Is anyone running a QX6700 with this board? This BIOS just bricked my motherboard. LCD Poster doesn't get past the CPU INIT stage.

The BIOS flash worked perfectly. I used EZ-Flash to do it through the BIOS. I saw the screen that said "Flash Succesful; Your computer will reboot in 5 seconds" and then I was plunged into a bitter-sweet black abyss. All settings were at stock when I flashed the BIOS, except my RAM timings and voltage. My RAM timings were at 3-4-3-9-2T @ 2.4V because that's what my RAM is rated to. Most settings weren't on AUTO but they were definitely at stock settings. My CPU was at 1.32V when VID is 1.35 but it runs stable at 1.29V. My multiplier was at the stock 10x. Basically - nothing was overclocked, but now my motherboard is showing me no love..

I've reset my CMOS more than enough times for it to have worked by now, both using the button on the motherboard and pulling out the battery. I've pulled out the battery so that hopefully any residual charge may dissipate overnight but apart from that, I am completely stumped.

I don't think I did anything wrong. Has anyone else had problems?... or are they not saying anything cause their computers don't work anymore.

There are lots of problems with CPU INIT and initial boot ups of this board (flashing bios may have put the board back into a initial boot up state). For me my board will not give beep codes or do anything remotely usefull until I put it one stick of cheap memory (key being 1 and cheap) and boot up with that. Then It will give beep codes and boot with two sticks. Also then you can change voltages to work properly with your memory and such.

Ah yeah - I forgot about the memory trick because it didn't do it to me the first time I put the rig together. I'll try that now. Thanks for reminding me. Its late here... haha.

Did anybody try this new beta BIOS with 4 DDR2 modules? I have 2 PC 8000 OCZ Titanium Alpha modules and I would like to upgrade to 4Gbyte (4 modules) buying 2 more modules but I am uncertain about it because many people report problems with Asus Striker and 4 memory modules. Do you know anything about it?

Pretty stable BIOS. Supposedly fixed 4-dominator-sticks-problem.

Ok well I finally got my computer to boot. I used different lower Voltage RAM to get into the BIOS and change things around. I should have exhausted all the quirky tricks with this board before posting here but I thought I was immune to the memory trick due to the fact I didn't have to do it with BIOS 1002.

Some things I've noticed about this BIOS - my Vcore set on AUTO now reads 1.33V in PcProbe rather than the 1.28-1.30V it used to be shown as.

This is only a theory but I don't think the RAM overvolts as much as it used to. I used to have to undervolt my RAM to get it stable. My RAM is rated for 2.4V. It used to run quite happyily on 2.275V but now it needs 2.375V or 2.4V. I think the decrease in overvolt may have pushed my system to the point where it couldn't boot because it was actually getting 1.8V instead of the 2.0V or so that it was getting before.

I'm still testing the memory issue and I am about to put in the whole 4x1GB so I'll let you guys know how that pans out.

Thanks again for jogging my "memory".. Haha...

Welcome to Xs WorthIt glad you got it posting again... keep me informed about ya Quad cpu Oc , wanna build a second rig and see if the striker can handle it otherwise it will be an EVGA this time

edit damn I damaged my board doing a reinstall of components in my cube can get it stable at 450mhz anymore , max FSB is now 395mhz foek

Thanks Leeghoofd.. I'll keep you psoted. I am going to be overlclocking with 4Gbs because I am running a lot of sound software and soft synths chew resources. Whether I am limited in my overclocking by the fact I am running 4Gb instead of 2Gb will remain to be seen, but I'll let you know how I go.

I just RMA'd a kit of RAM cause one stick was dead. That was probably what was giving me problems instead of this BIOS. It just happened at the exact time I flashed.

That's a big drop in FSB.. Its unfortunate but these things happen with these sort of systems. I am starting to stress because my 8800GTXs have been taken in and out of my case that many times I can't count. I have been moving cabling around to get everything looking nice and trying to improve airflow. Is there any way you can get in there with a soldering iron and fix the damage? If you can build a cube like that, surely you fix a silly old Striker!
