    Project Dark Side

    aka The SpacemanSpiff-Navig Project

    Hi everybody,

Just completed my end of a computer case commissioned by another poster named SpacemanSpiff at the abit forums.

After completing my last mod, the Benching Station, SpacemanSpiff contacted me and we agreed to do a joint project based on a lot of similar concepts used in my Benching Station. He wanted some subtle but significant differences, tho. He was looking for something more cube-like, less transparent, and much more quiet (as you can tell by my benching station, I like fans).

Anyway, here are some pics, of my completed case. The components and lighting will be different--the case is going to be shipped out to SpacemanSpiff for completion tomorrow.

Some of the nice features include:

    Easy hard drive access:

The entire lid is held on by quick release hitch pins:

It can be lifted off whole:

And the system run as an open benching station:

The system needn't even be shut down to access the components:

And the whole things can be broken down into 3 parts, 1) Lid 2) Motherboard tray 3) Frame

Anyway, plenty of more pics and the whole log are located here.

Very cool, to bad there was no way to work a proper fitting back plate in but that would make it impossible to take the top off too. very nice though
