Are there any secrets to squeezing a few more MHz of FSB out of this board?

I've topped mine out at around 525x7. I can still make it into windows at 532x7, but I get a hard lock very quickly. BTW, I doubt I've hit the FSB wall of the e6300. I'm running at 1.50V to get 3675MHz.

I'd really like to get 529x7 as my everyday clock, but its not going to happen unless I can figure out how to increase the stability of the board. I think I may try improving the NB cooling and add some mosfet sinks to see if that helps things.

You know how many conroe CPUs do over 3.6Ghz especially 1.50v? Extremely very very few, I have to say less than 1%.

P5B Sudden Shut Down and Now Won't Post .... RMA ?

    Hey all,

I thought everything was running smoothly with my setup:

    C2D E6600
    2Gb G.Skill HZ
    P5B-Dlx
    EAX1900CF
    2x320GB Seagate .10
    XClio 650W

Till yesturday when the gf was surfing around and the screen went black (didn't shut off) and now the system will not post. Tried pulling power for awhile, tried CMOS Jumper, pulling the battery, waiting, all combinations of the above, pulled all other components out, etc etc

It doesn't beep, no keyboard lights, nothing. Hitting Reset on case causes the board to cold boot (power down, then up after a second or two). Tried one stick of ram at a time, same result. Can get it to beep if pulling out both sticks of ram, other then that its silent.

Is there anything else I should try, maybe something with this board, or just something I might be forgetting before I contact Asus for RMA ???? Maybe this isn't a MB problem ? I'll try some different ram, but I am kinda thinking its the Mb.

Thanks, Also if anyone has a recommendation for an Intel ICH8R or higher board (not sure what the hot board is right now) I would consider switching to,

    st

I have been plagued by very similiar problems...I don't think I've ever heard this board beep.
Sometimes she just wont POST. Black screen and vid card fan just spins at full speed. (same as if there was no RAM inserted)

I'm on my 2nd P5B delux now and it just wont POST anymore.
I used to use a cheepo stick of samsung RAM to get her up,
before putting my TeamX D9s in, but now even that don't cut it.

I can honestly say this is the most problematic board I've seen in 15 years.
Although... I just bought a 3rd one and picking it up tomorrow! HAHA
Gonna RMA #2 which I got in exchange for #1 :P

I'm hoping #3 will be good, because the OCing on
this board w/ my E6300 and TeamX RAM is SICK on air!

I have a serious love hate relation with it.
    WHAT HAPPENED TO QC/QA ASUS!?!

    Tomek.

Edit - the one that now won't POST (#2) is made in China Rev 1.03G
I think alot of these P5B problems can be attributed to RAM compatability.
IF you have high end micron RAM (TeamX or G.Skill etc) you might need more volts than the defualt 1.8 the board supplies..
If P5B #3 has the same problems, I'm considering VDIMM mod to bring the default to 2.0V or 2.2V

Isn't it sort of rediculous that we would have to resort to this just to boot our expensive ram?

I cherry picked this e6300. Definatly the best one I have encountered so far.

My goal is still hot hit 3.7GHz 24x7 stable.
