    Red face GTX360 or PA120.3 ? which 1 to buy ?

How much is the performance difference between the two ?

GTX360 is cheaper, bit thinner n its also optimized for low cfm fans

is the PA120.3 worth the extra cash, or should i just stick to the GTX360 ?

if the diff in performance is less like 2-3c, then i will buy the GTX360, if its anything more that that, PA120.3 it is

I cant find any real-world comparision out there,

PS: The main config of my WC would be

    Pump: MCP 655
    CPU block: D-tek FuZion
    GPU Block: MCW60 for 8800gtx
Pipes: Tygon 1/2in ID 3/4in OD

    Help me guys

    TIA

The PA series of rads is the best-performing series of rads on the market on fans rated at less than 130 CFM. Considering that 130 CFM is pretty crazy (I could imagine it being very loud as well), the PA series is generally considered to be the best. However, they are very expensive. Most people on this forum favor Swiftech's MCR series of rads to all other "budget rads".

Well i have the money to buy the PA120.3, but if the diff isnt much (2 - 3c) its not worth the extra cash IMO, since i can get the GTX360 for like $40 cheaper. I was just wondering, how does a GTX360 perform against the PA120.3 ?

Sounds to me like you are trying to justify being cheap and not buying the PA120.3. There's no polite way of saying this... don't be penny wise and pound foolish.. just buy the PA120.3.

Well put, if you have the money to spend on the better one (its way better really) don't try to skimp and save the 30 bucks. Its either thermochills or step down to MCR, BIP, Coolingworks, the cheap stuff you know.

The quality of the PA120.3 is exceptional with equal performance. If you buy the PA you will not regret it and the rad will last you for many years. just my $.015

Thermochill supports this board and vise versa, so any opinions on who is better will be bias. I have never used the PA120.3 but I have a GTX360 and it gets better temps than any PA120.3 with the same setup (E6600+8800GTX) that I have seen on this board.

Bottom line, find your own facts, don't trust what people say here. That's what I did and i'm glad that I did

Perhaps its something called lower room temp? And also, perhaps its called DUAL 8800GTX???
Not to mention, there are people who actually OWN BOTH RADS and they found PA120.3 is better...

It's impossible to compare two rigs, no matter how similar their set up is. There are too many factors that come into play including what blocks were used, mounting, ambient temp, fan cfm, pumps, restriction, tubing, etc. Go on the thermochill website and they have graphs of all the competing rads, and the PA series beats out all the competition in every test when fans are below 130CFM.

swiftech mcr220 user here...[ducks for cover]

Christ, the mcr series can't be that bad for $45 (triple is $60). CPU,NB, and a hot GPU in my loop, cooled by a double (oh my!) swiftech radiator and low-cfm loons. everything has great temps. who needs 120.3 PA? Anyways, if I could afford one, I would get the PA series. But for now, I'm being resonable.

Marci, the sales rep for Thermochill, posted a very extensive radiator review not too long ago. To my knowledge, it included all modern radiators, or at least the ones that people actually care about. The PA series never lost in terms of performance. I'm not going to use the search function and link you, because, quite frankly, you should have done your research before making such a bold accusation.

That means I have to buy a ThermalChill PA120.3! The price is around $140. That is not a bad price for a great radiator.

I have seen those stats and I find it funny that they were made BY Thermochill, and every Rad other than the PA120.3 has restrictive barbs. Just funny to me. I want some unbias stats is all

You really think the barbs are what make a rad good or bad? You know what, since you have so much money to waste on silenx fans why don't you buy some rads and test them?

Unlike you serialk11r, I don't talk out of my ass about parts I don't own. I will buy a PA120.3 for my next rig in about a month, test it in my own (replace the GTX360) and post the results.

I have the GTX360 and it seems to be working fine for me. This is the Gen2 version, not really sure what that means. I have my QX6700 at 3.3g @ 1.45v. Ambient temp right now is 20c and I'm idleing at 39c and loads at 54c. Those temps are fairly respectable I think.

Funny thing is everyone says how you need high cfm fans to get the performance outta this rad. I only get about 2-3c difference between 30%-100% with my 71cfm fans. Anything below 50% fan speed and the rad is silent. I've been very happy with mine.

I still might have to buy a PA though...just to see for myself.

I dont feel like quoting cause I am tired but to whoever said that the PA series are better with anything less then 130 CFM... you are wrong... before you go and make up numbers please just back up and think for a minute. Tests done by BillA, Marci ect... show that around the 70-90 CFM mark All the top contenders close the gap on the PA series. Below 50 CFM however... nothing can touch the PA series rads.

And to whoever said Marci posted an extensive review... this does not include th e GTX series as of yet AFAIK. I will search into this as it has been a month or so since I have been reading regularly on here.

What it comes down to is if you want the "Best" get a PA series rad. If you are using 100+ CFM fans then the GTX series are an option. If you want silence then get a PA. I went with a GTX based on size alone... pic below will show why.

A thermochill would not fit in there lol. BTW I am using Panaflo's FBA12G12U's @ 7v in push pull...

Thermochill DOES NOT support this forum. Marci is NOT a sales rep. He founded thermochill like 5 years ago because he wanted a better radiator. He merely posts actively on this forum because he's an enthusiast like us. He posts on all the forums that are related to watercooling.

The PA series rads have been independently tested by BillA (during which tests he has results for a BI GTS for reference).

I have a swiftech rad because the thermochills are so darned expensive. If I had the cash, however, I'd get a thermochill rad. and you can't accuse bias from me, because I hate this forum. lol, jk.
