Hi, im new on this forums.
Im going to buy an used SD 3700+ and i have some steps to choose
Here is the CPU stepping code ->>>
    ADA3700DAA5BN:

    KACAE 0551TPAW / CABGE 0517UPAW / KAB2E 0548FPMW / KAB2E 0604FPFW / KAB3E 0548RPDW

I want to know which step is the most overclockable.
I need help, because i must know in 2 days -_-

    Thanks for help!!

Well...I have a little Sandy too. The IHS is pretty "rubbed" so I don't exactly know the stepping (but I think it might be a CCBWE or a LCBIE, because cpu-id saw it as Toledo, and because it is an E6 revision..and because it goes very good for an E6)

    So...

    The Rig:

    San Diego E6 3700+
    AC Freezer 64 Pro
    Asus A8N-SLI
    2x256 Corsair CMX3200LLPT v1.1 (bh-5)

    The Setup

Because of my mobo, I could only provide 1,50v for the CPU and 3,0v for the RAM, so all results are obtained at those values.
    All (very cold) air cooling
Temp ambient = +4 degrees Celsius
Location: on the ledge of my window, windows wide open, in the middle of the night

    The results

    1. Max Cpu-Z : 3268Mhz @1,50v - 297x11, ht 3x

    2. Max Spi 1M : 26.250sec @ 3179Mhz - 289x11, ht3x, 239Mhz@2-2-2-5 1T (2-7-12-2-2-5-2-2-1-1)

    Conclusion: I need more voltage!

I'm also new here, and I'm no guru...but I would say go with the KAB3E or with the KACAE.

This was on a fora some time ago:

KAB2E – Comes in 2 varieties. The older KAB2E’s from mid-late 2005 are decent overclockers which overclock to around 2.9GHz. The newer 2006 KAB2E’s are overclocking like gems at the moment. An example of this is Crash’s and Krunk Kracker’s, which overclock to around 3-3.1GHz. In general KAB2E’s require a lot of voltage to reach the higher overclocks.
KAB3E - A better overclocker and much rarer stepping than the older KAB2E’s. They still require larger Vcore’s to reach the higher speeds but expect ~ 3GHz.
KABNE – An unusual stepping which is hard to get hold of. It performs similarly to the KAB3E so is capable of ~ 3Ghz.
KABYE – Again a rare 3700+ stepping which performs well. Expect ~ 2.9-3GHz
KABQE – As with the KABNE and KABYE, the KABQE is a scarce 3700+ stepping but actually overclocks better than the 2 aforementioned steppings. A typical overclock would be just over 3GHz with low Vcore.
KACAE - Possibly the best chip for air cooling and can reach very high speeds with low voltage. Most KACAE’s will achieve >3GHz, but some steppings (i.e. the 0602GPMW) are capable of 3.2GHz! Unlike the KAB2E’s they do not seem to scale well with Vcore and tend to perform best when at a lower Vcore.
CCBWE - This is an example of an E6 revision 3700+ and is commonly thought of as a Toledo core CPU with one core disabled. A CCBWE will not perform too well on air cooling (around 2.8GHz) but will do very well on sub-zero cooling such as Phase-Change cooling.
CABGE - Old stepping which is not as common lately. Just like the Opteron 146 CABGE they are in general bad overclockers which will usually only reach 2.6GHz-2.7GHz. Fear the cabbage!
KABGE – Similar to the cabbage above. They do slightly better and overclock to around ~2.7GHz but still don’t come close to the more superior later steppings.

    My first post here.
I have recently bought a San Diego 3700+ E4 cpu. It is KAB1E stepping
It does 3GHz prime test vdef, 3.1 GHz prime test @ 1.408V and perhaps even more but i haven't tested yet. I also have a screenshot at 3333 mhz but unfortunatelly it isn't cpu-z verified(you will have to trust me, aldo i can run another session and validate it).

    My achievements for now:

    - cpu-z max: 3333 mhz @ vcore: 1.536

    - super pi 1M max: 3267 mhz @ vcore: 1.504 -- score: 25.391 sec

    - Prime test 3GHz @ vcore: 1.360

I just bought this cpu and i was impacient to find out how good it is, and my primary target was super pi and cpu-z max so i had no time for prime test. Excepting the prime test screenshot (i had ~ 5C ambient temp) , i used Cooler Master Hyper6+ (fan @ 3300RPM) and zalman SGT1 thermal grease and i had ~ 20C ambiant temperature. I forgot to start smart guardian but my cpu temp was ~ 31C idle .

    What do you think ?

    System:
    Asus A8N-SLI
    Arctic Cooler 64 pro
    AMD 64 4000
    Corsair TwinX 4400C25 2x512mb
    XFX 6800GSXXX
    Tagan480-u22 psu

I’m trying to overclock my CPU to match the FSB speeds my ram is rated at. I bought a matched pair of Corsair TwinX 4400C25 which are rated to run at 550mhz, FSB 275, but the highest satiable FSB my CPU will go to is around 235 with a multi x12, core speed 2.8Ghz.

I know the problem is with my CPU because I dropped the multi down x4 and the Ram went up to 275 no prob on a timing 1:1 2.5-4-4-8 T2, 2.7volts. Passed memtest every time I upped the FSB by 10 from a start of 200

Because my cpu is satiable at 2.8 Ghz , multi x12, I tried dropping the multi to x10 so I could get to my rams max fsb 275, but as soon as I get past an FSB of 240 my cpu becomes unstable will not pass the 30 min test on OCCT.

    HT is set to X3
    Ram timing 1:1 2.5-4-4-8 T2, 2.7volts
    PCI-E set to 33Mhz
CPU volt tried from 1.45 to 1.5
CPU temps have never gone past 41c at max load

I know it sound good getting my CPU overclocked to 2.8Ghz, but I feel it’s not getting the most out and my Ram.

Is there anything I’m not doing, or doing wrong. Do I need a better Motherboard or CPC? I’d really appreciate some help from some of you seasoned overclockers, because as you can tell I’m a bit a novice.

4000+ does 3.0ghz @1.4vcore, havent tried higher, yet.
    1m time = 28sec

IHS was so concave I've sanded it till all the info is gone, I wrote it on the receipt from 'Egg.

Just got my DH-E6 today (4000+)

I'm running 4x512 MB so I have to do 2T and it bumped it down to 333 MHz.

Gave Ram 2.8 volts amd cpu 1.45 vcore And did 255x11 HTT x3 = 2805 MHz

Bumped ram up to 200 MHz (400 MHz DDR) 2-3-3-5 Dual channel (Cpu/14 ratio)

    Prime95 stable 20 hours load is 51 C

With an alpine 64 HSF (seems pretty good for it)

    super 1M guessting about 30-32seconds

    will post pics soon

KAB1E is one of the best SanDiego steppings (easily achieve 2.9 - 3GHz aircooled) but then it is not easy for 3.1GHz cos limits....
