This has been something i've witnessed with the 680i boards only.. also note that with quads orthos (any number of instances running) just stresses 2 cores.
I use prime or the lavalys stress test instead which stress all 4 cores (my guess is that they both stress cpu a bit less than orthos) and are closer to real life full loads.
However having a system pass orthos for a couple of hours is an extra guaranty of it's stability.

    Hello!!
This is my first post and IN9 - C2D 6600 L632B060 is a good team:

When a try pass dual SuperPi, the temp in PWM Phases are at 150º , at 25 minutes the computer power off. I use 6cm fan to nortbrige and 4cm to PWM phase but when i close the case the temperatures up

Excuse me for my bad english.

Read further back at the first pages of this thread and there are instructions on how to make it better.

The stock cooling heatsing that came with your board is probably having a bad contact so you need to take it off and fold the Thermal Pad in the middle (fold it in half and try to make ti even so there are no gaps).

I did and my Temps are never above 80C on load and I am running 1.625Vcore and most of the other voltages higher than stock. I also have an 80mm Fan there.

    Hello.
Before deciding me by this board, I have read enough this thread; not if all to complete but the great majority. It will try to read them at great length but.

I suppose that the problem is the bad contact between the dissipator and the PWM, i don´t know if these so high temperatures were normal. Also I have read that is not good put AS5 in mosfet, what i must put???

The so high temperatures ONLY I obtain them passing the Orthos and with the case closed, normally they do not happen of 100º.

I finish seeing that linflas has been able to stabilize the 3600 (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...30375&page=11), and the temperatures of the PWM are very low. Since it has obtained it?

I wonder what program you guys use to read Nortbridge and southbridge temps, i can get an 8 hour error free orthos @3,4 on my e6600 29b
but i have only stock cooling and no active cooling on de nb and sb
So i am afraid to rise nb or sb voltages

    Any ideas

    I use Abit uGuru.

If i don´t use 4cm fan in PWM phases the temp is very high, 160º.

I have found this post: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...130375&page=18
OKsoVRomoSkylo says that problem is heatsink don´t touch PWM phase, and i supose that is what it happens to my.

    Quick question:

I've updated to Beta 6 Bios and overall things seem a bit more stable, however I've had this weird issue that has started popping up. When I power down my system, about once in three times when I power it back up it will not come up completely. It will act as if it is starting up (a little disk access, but not like a normal boot up) but the screen will stay inactive / blank. If I power down and then power up again it starts up completely fine.

To eliminate any OC issues I restored everything in BIOS to their defaults and it still happens.

I was just curious if anyone else is experiencing this?

PWM temps are directly related to the the amount of vcore used as well as cooling. I removed my heat pipes applied as5 to northbridge & southbridge and folded the thermal pad on the pwms. when using 1.49vcore my pwm temps range from 60'c to 70'c. When using the stock 1.325v my temps never go above 60'c and stay in the 40'c -48'c range. The board is installed in an Antec 900 case.

I have been having an issue or two with the airpace wifi card not showing up sometimes when I reboot. Other than that I have not had any other problems with my current setup. Anyone else seeing this or know what the issue might be?

It's probably your pci-e frequency is up too high.. I was having the same issue with my pci-e 1x raid card.. set your pci-e clocks to between 100 and 105.. some of those 1x cards can't handle anything more.

Well they need to figure out how to get a decent bios out and real quick like...The board has been out and about for awhile now (well before us boys in the states got to purchase one). Nothing but a few leaked betas is not boosting the confidence level on my end...

I'm just about ready to head off to fry's and pick up an Evga and let this one collect a little dust for awhile...Haven't been able to get a decent memory OC (well anything stable over DDR21000) even on minimal OC to the cpu. Granted it may have to do with it not liking my memory which is semi forgivable but I'm not a patient kind of guy. Heck I'd be happy if the profiles worked so I could at least try several avenues...

I've figured out most of the bugs with the shipping bios (which I have reverted to) but I was maybe just expecting a bit more. Clock for clock at 3.6ghz my Infinity with hacked SLI drivers still whoops it in all but 3DM01...and even at that I have to tweak the memory just to get close...
