    Hello. New poster here.

    I've run my E6600 on P5B Deluxe with following settings:

    9,0 x 378MHz = 3402MHz
    VCore 1,40V (1,375V was enough though)
    DDR 2,1V
    PCIE settings at 100 and 33,33MHz
    Corsair 800MHz DDR2 mem at 4-4-4-12

    Stable under Orthos for some hours and I didn't bother testing any longer. In P180 case with two S-Flex 120mm fans @1000rpm and Tuniq Tower 120 @1500rpm. Reasonably quiet (no sound heard from under the table while music playing).

    Measuring with Everest Ultimate I have cores temps ranging from 33C to 55C depending on load in 22C room temp.

    I would like to push for 9,0 x 401MHz. Some say that 401MHz is easier than 400MHz because of some strap thing or something else which I didn't really get. I'm back home tomorrow and will try the higher voltage settings given in this thread for chipset.

    Any tips how much VCore should be a good bet to start trying to achieve stable system at 9,0 x 401MHz? DDR should run without problem at it's specsed 2,1V at least to that 800MHz. The other voltages, I've understood, one can set pretty freely to the max values?

    Maybe a little more vcore. No need for other voltages to be at max with only 401fsb, lowest settings should do.

    Oh sorry, I forgot to add that I tried 9,0 x 401MHz earlier. Same settings but VCore 1,425.

    Got once into Vista just ok and Orthos failed in no more than four seconds

    It nearly didn't boot into BIOS again for me to lower the setting again so a little something extra definitely is needed...

    Post only 4-5hrs orthos stable...

    I'm running my E6600 @ 3,2Ghz (8 x 400) but after 4 to 5 hours of Orthos (blend aka. cpu & ram and priority 5) the system hangs, no crash, no reboot. Just hangs - no mouse movement.

    Also, when using this settings my system isn't 24/7 stable, anyone can advice me what settings I should take to change this situation ? I have vcore @ 1,35v so I'm around 1,3v in Windows under load. Would a higher voltage on any other component help (most things are on auto there).

    I have my Corsair memory at the default 5-5-5-12 as it is 6400 C5.

    Thx.

    ps. from what I can see (CoreTemp, Speedfan) temps do not pose a problem (below 60 degrees)

    Try going to 401x8(thats when the strap changes to 1333) as the system might not like such a high speed on the 1066 strap.

    Nice. This is max i can do stock board with multi 8, only screenshot. 7x583 does run 1M. A little more vcore/cold should do.

    Unhappy

    The BIOS settings on page one did not work. I configured the system frequency/voltage and the pc shut down and would not boot back up. So I unplugged it and got an overclocking failed message. I had to set the AI Tuning back to auto. Also, any idea on how to get rid of the beep during power up. It has been doing this since I put the pc together. When playing games like Half-Life2 I get a beep or two during game play. I have the most up to date BIOS. Why is this? Could this be a memory problem? I ran Memtest and it checked out fine. I am worried about damage to my PC.
    Here are my specs:
    ASUS P5B Deluxe/WIFI-AP edition.
    Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.40GHz OEM Processor. Ultra Xwind CPU cooler.
    Corsair TWINX 1024MB PC5400 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 Memory (2 x 512MB).
    PNY Optima 1GB PC2-5300 667MHz DDR2 DIMM Memory
    Western Digital / Caviar SE 16 / 250GB / 7200 / 16MB / SATA-300 / OEM / Hard Drive .
    Sony DRU810A / 16x8x16x DVD+RW / 16x6x16x DVD-RW / 8x DVD±R DL / Interchangable Bezels White or Black / Internal DVD Writer - Retail.
    1.44MB Floppy Disk Drive (Black).
    500w ANtec Smartpower 2.0.
    PNY GEFORCE 7900 GS video card, 256mb.
    Creative Audigy Sound Card.
    Samsung SyncMaster 940mw HD/WS LCD Monitor.

    Thank you.

    Hit a wall at 500Mhz

    My setup is able to reach 3.5Ghz at 500mhz default multy. It requires just 1.38volts with the vmood applied on the mobo to reach this speed. However just 1 more Mhz on the fsb and I will fail orthos almost immediately, with 5mhz more my computer will re-boot.

    Something that I notice in my setup different than what you guys recommended here is my VIHC voltage; auto and minimum fails instantly at this speed, it requires 1.207volts (Highest value at the bios) to work correctly. Can we draw some conclusions from this? Where is my problem mobo or cpu? Am I doing something wrong?

    Need Help

    Not sure what is going on. Cant seem to get settings right. My Ram Timing is supposed to be 5-5-5-12. I cant even get Orthos to run stable at 3.2 ghz. I think It has something to due with my dramm and memory voltage. Ive tried alot of combos. What im trying to achieve is 3.6 ghz running Orthos stable. I have a scythe heatsink no problems there. Just need to know a good set of settings to try.
    What DRAM Freq to get 5-5-5-12?
    What Mem volt?
    What cpu vcore for 3.6 ghz stable? 400x9
    Ive been leaving everything else auto.

    Looser on many levels

    Okay, I suck at this. I thought this would be easy with the P5B after reading 1000 forums and how-to's but damn. I have a hot running 6600 - first problem. So I can only run 3.2 (350 FSB) and keep my temps under 60C with my Freezone. I'll settle for that (for now). Eveything is on auto except PCI bus at 33.3 and DRAM V at 2.25 and it runs great. My SuperTalent memory runs at 3-4-3-8 with 266 bus but at 350 the minute I change ANYTHING else from auto it craps out. I have an XFi and an x1900, 2GB SuperTalent DDR800 and a Tehermaltake Toughpower 700, and P5B Deluxe.

    Anyone willing to talk a retard through this?

    Lower your multi and try FSB 400 or 401. Do not leave the voltages on auto. Set them manually when overclocking.
    Try vMCH: 1.45v, vFSB termination: 1.4v, vSB: 1.5v and disable everything in CPU Function except PECI and Execute Disable Bit.
    Also do net let the memory on auto. Set the latency manual, relaxed ones if you're going to go up to 800Mhz if FSB is 400.

    reason you could be running so hot is because you left voltages on auto. If I leave cpu vcore on auto and run at 3.2ghz, it'll be feeding it 1.60v. Yikes! It only needs 1.325v.

    Just started messing with my OC and thought I'd share my results.

    8 x 401 - 3.2ghz at 29c Idle and 40c Load

    FSB = 401
    PCI-e = 101
    PCI Clock = 33.33mhz
    Spread Spectrum = Disabled
    vMem = 2.10v
    vCore = 1.35v actual reads as 1.296v thats a lot of droop
    FSB Termination = 1.3v
    NB = 1.25v
    SB = 1.5
    ICH = 1.057

    It was my goal to hit 3.2-3.6ghz on air. I haven't tightened up my ram timings yet. Still trying to get everything else dialed in before I do that.

    Thanks for your answer ziddey

    I will try to go higher on the Vcore tonigh to see if I can reduce the ICH volts to normal. Like I described above anything below the max will crash orthos automaticall

    I'm stable with an E6400 currently at 3504MHz (438x8) with 4-4-4-12 1:1 DDR2-875. Memory is PC2-6400 G.Skill "HZ" D9

    24 hours in Orthos. Needed 1.44v under load, though. I think it's set for 1.50v in the BIOS, 1.44v load/1.45v idle.

    Okay I am setting all my voltage manually and it boots to Vista 32 at 402 x 9 (6600). Works but is unstable. I load Speenfan and it says my Vcore is 1.12 even though it is set for 1.45 in the BIOS. Can't Vdroop that much can it? Where in the BIOS do I double check that I have turned off throttling on the CPU?

    BTW - at 350x9 and AUTO settings vcore is 1.3 and runs like a charm. 3.2MHz ain't bad but I WANT MORE!!!

    1.12 sounds like you might still have c1e/speedstep turned on.
    speedfan shouldn't have the high voltage bug of cpuz. get aisuite if you wante 3 decimals like cpuz. that's incredible if you're seeing 1.12 and still able to boot, even if it's unstable. perhaps do the vdroop pencil mod. it does wonders

    c1e is off. I'm in Vista now. I run Everest toture test and temps go to 67 on CPU even at 1.12 but I seem more stable since I turned off PECI. I'm thinking the Vdroop mod is a waste cuz it'll just give more heat right? What temp would you consider max? I hear keep it under 60. I have a freezone - I was hoping heat wouldn't be a problem.
