    8800GTS: 71.5k 01, 229k AM3, /w water cooled xeon

    Was pretty cold out tonight (25f) but not very windy

    Vdd modded the 8800 with SMD grabbers to 2.05vdd and took my mem from 1025 to 1125
    Ramped the vmch mod on the board up to 2.1vmch
    vdimm = 2.8v
    vcore = 1.6v
    vfsb = 1.4v

    3060 xeon L630
    xbx2 vmch modded
    EVGA 8800GTS 660-670 core 1100-1025 ram vdd modded
    crucial ballistix PC5300 3-3-3

    Can't believe my ram went that high! On AM2 I couldn't get past 467mhz at the same voltage, and 975 should be harder to clock on! Nature was at 670 core, rest of the run at 660. Nature, dl, and ll at 1125 memory, rest at 1100. Started artifacting so I backed down.

    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=9150103

    670/1125 470*9

    An earlier 06 result

    470 fsb started crapping out

    After that I decided to try some pi and even 467*9 would BSOD. I tried 2.52vdimm (this was with my 2gbhz now, 4-4-4-4) and it worked for a bit but 1m would crash after 2 runs and 8m wouldn't go. No idea what happened, maybe my room warmed up.

    They're called SMD grabbers. Not sure where you'd get them over in Australia. Maybe mouser.com ships internationally?

    Great scores but why is CPU-Z showing multi 6 instead of 9 in some screens?

    Man, SMDgrabbers mod? Hardmod it.

    Nice scores, though. I'm liking the 4.1GHz on water.

    Forgot to disable ESIT/speed step, drops multi to 6x at idle.

    You're taking off the heatspreader of those cards but haven't got the bawls to do Vmods, just with smd grabbers?

    Vmod with smd grabbers is a piece of cake, easier than pencil mods even.

    Even soldering to the IC's legs isn't that hard.

    well I may have popped my IHS, but I won't do a VMOD, however I would be willing to put a card up for VMOD, see what it can do for Temps and all out performance.

    I didn't take the IHS off, phelan did. I wanted to get the mod done quick and safe. SMD grabbers were the easiest way. Pencil, solder, or grabber, I got the mod done so who cares. I've full modded an x800pro and two 7800GTs so it's not like I can't solder.

    I was talking to Phelan, should have quoted him, sorry.
    Mods are mods, as long as they work it's fine.
