Nope didn't take a pic of it, the pins were carefully modded with silver paint as described in this and the other links provided for the mod.

The silver conductive pen I had ran out, don't wonna pay another £20 for the darn pen to see if it works with that instead of the cheap silver paint I got off ebay.

What happens if you just block the BSEL traces? Or they pulled to VCC automaticly then?

    Try a pencil.

edit - wittekakker - to block the BSEL pads you will need fingernail polish or similar.. tape will likely work as well. To block a trace would require cutting.

Euh, yea, exaclty, I ment the pads, not the mainboards PCB traces, as that might take a few more tries

Is anyone willing to try take an E4300 to 400mhz with this mod below?
However i REALLY doubt that you can do that off default vcore.

It should be again stated for those new to this thread that although the bsel manipulation would work in theory, it still depends on the motherboard bios for being able to read it and understand!! If your motherboard wasn't programmed to understand the bsel flags for 400 or 333, then setting it to it would be useless. At best, you'd still be at a lower setting. At worst, it'll not post.

Oh and here's a possible 200-333 change for a E4300 if someone's willing to attempt it. As you can see connecting the BSEL 1 to VSS changes it to L while BSEL 2 to VCC makes it H, to give you HLL at 333mhz.

It is gonna b really tough separating the two lines. My tip is to draw the outer line first then put something in the middle between before you draw the inner line. Or maybe the other way around is easier hmm. Actually its probably easier to tape the side of the chip and do the inside then do the outside.

My next question is: Is there a pin that controlls the multiplier??!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!

333 does indeed become 1:1 with this mod.

tested and confirmed with Everest Ultimate edition beta 3.8

1:1 changing from 266 to 333 doesnt really mean anything.
you can manually do this at any time by simply overclocking.

Is it true that the silver conductive paint doesn't work then from the bay due the reisistence?

I really wanna try this mod but I want it to work!

    lol

All i have is the silver conductive paint that worked with my badaxe when I modded it a treat.

But a few have said it the silver stuff doesn't work with the 9x 266 E4300 mod confused:

    hallo!

i'm from germany so sorry for the bad english.

    i have 2 questions.
first, whats about the fsb 400 mod? works it?

and then a question about the mainboard. it is necessary that the board (bios) support the FSB 333 (without overclocking)?

    regards from germany

the problem with threads that get this big is that every other post is asking the same question
yes fsb333/400 would require a supporting bios. thus, 333 would be possible with newer bioses that offer support. 400 looks to be just for the future still at this point.

sorry, but i thought that its may be enougt if the board accept the 333fsb with overclocking!
    ok!
    thank you very much!

no worries, it's not your fault. it's just an inherent problem with threads this big.

so is there any benefit to doing this mod if you have a board such as P5B Dlx that already clocks over 500fsb?

and, do you mod the same pins for a dual core? ie: E6600?

The e6600 mod is the same as the quad core mod cuz they both start at 266fsb

Still no 1 tried the E4300 333 mod yet?

Hm so how can I mod my E6850 to run 266? I kinda blew my P5N32-E SLI Plus and my P5B-E Plus doesn't have the bios for 333FSB flashed so I need to boot at 266 in order to flash the new bios with 333FSB support

this is why mobo manufacturers should employ a nice little jumper block for strap selection

i'd still love to hear from anyone getting higher maximum fsb out of a conroe using the 333fsb mod on a supporting mobo

instead of connecting to vss, connect to vcc. that'll ground it out and effectively give it low relative resistance, and cause an overall lo-lo-lo for 266fsb
