    "overclocking failed or overvoltage failed"

    Hi,

    I have an E6400 cpu that is running at 2.74ghz @vcore 1.400 ..

When i tried to bump my fsb to 353, i received an error "overclocking failed or overvoltage failed" and when I up my voltage to 1.4375+ i received the same error again ..

Anyone knows how to fix this?

I have an Arctic Pro 7 HSF and my psu is Seasonic S12 550 watt

Might be handy to tell what mobo you're using since error message comes from bios.
    Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z | FX 8350 | 2x4GB Trident-X 2600 C10 | 2x ATI HD5870 Crossfire | Enermax Revo 1050watt | OCZ Vertex 3 60GB | Samsung F1 1TB

    i believe its an asus.

raise your voltage even higher. you might need 1.5v to get past this barrier.
also try enabling memory timings to be set by SPD
    disable hyperpath...
raise your memory voltage a bit as well

    just general tips.

Yes I have an Asus p5w dh mobo. I will try to set it to 1.5 vcore tonight, but alot of people can go up to 3.2ghz without passing to 1.4 with my mobo, do you guys know why?

your cooling or your cpu batch can be the culprit
cooling - you can help this. get a better heatsink (tuniq tower) or even watercool it
batch - you can't help this. all about luck

It's a general error that can arise from a great many things, basically the board/chip doesn't like your current BIOS settings. You need to work on the optimal settings for your particular combo.
