It´s very cold in the room, where this systems stands, so the temp is between 16° and 20° Celsius. The Block is an Zern PQ+.

Right, it´s the tubing. To be exact: It´s Innovatek UV-active Tubing 10/8mm in blue

As you see it is a very simple structure, but more isn't needed to cool a 3500+ without OC.

great job on your blocks.

so - don't mind the naysayers... keep on building blocks. If it works - stick with it.
most of us here have no room to talk since we just buy our blocks from the aftermarket...

but - to add some constructive criticism... in terms of your hard drive blocks...
most of what I've read show that there isn't much benefit to cooling hard drives from the side...
if you could design a block that cools the drive from the bottom (including the chipsets), I think you would have far better results.

from a guy who makes his own blocks, I would think that you'd be a little more forgiving on criticizing other attempts at making homemade blocks....

though his design may not be 100% orginal, fact is, he made his own blocks and made them work in an effective system....

i've seen your straight-channel work serialk11r - which i commend... but who's to assume that your design is superior to his? ....

Well, it has never been the aim to build a high performance CPU-block when i made this. I just wanted to get my rig quiet and cool, and thats exactly what it is now. So i decided to make a simple block, because that was much easier and faster to built. And for me it works quite well. By the way: This block was made in the year 2002 an already worked in my first watercooled rig. Thermaltake wasn't even in watercooling at this time.

To the HDD-blocks: I can't imagine that it would be more effective to cool the drives on the bottom, as the area of contact to the block would be much smaller. The HDDs internal sensors give me constantly 3-4 K over the temperature of the water, so everything seems to work alright.

true they don't seem to be high performance blocks, but bloodyhell it's not that simple to make blocks if you dont have any fancy gear to do it with,
and atleast you took time and effort to make em, thats something that i respect highly.

btw my german is a bit rusty but i had to check out your project log and i've got to say that you have a really cool case mod.

Nevermind serialk11r... I was wrong, not a TEC. Look at the pictures, the close up ones. The wires are for the white LEDs.

Nice blocks... the barbs look restrictive though.

you *ss i was using a stupid saw...
hey I was saying, instead of that really restrictive design a few straight channels would work better. You know thermaltake's "aquarius 2" vga block? well that thing is a 180 degree bend cut into a piece of copper. It was more restrictive than a danger den maze 4 and had much worse temps. Google it. Look I have a hacksaw, hand held drill and nothing more. If I were this guy I really would have done a few straight channels.... But apart from the CPU block the rest was a really nice job.
EDIT: *gulp* you said thermaltake wasn't around when you made it??????////!!!!!!!!!! omfg.... you should sue thermaltake for stealing your design, because their block is exactly the same as yours, but CNCed, and with a blue LED...

Incredible system Big Kahuna, I remember following the job log on Aquacomputer's forum last year. I didn't know that the CPU block was handmade. I thought you had just made the acrylic top and had used an old Cuplex! Nice plexitubes by the way. I managed to snag one for a project myself.
