Hello Gents:
Just to throw some more clarity on a few issues. The RD600 has landed in Europe a few days ago and should be available in the UK shortly. I can't speak for North America, but I can state that there are no delays on this board here in the EU. This is just the first shipment and more have been ordered. The board will be available throughout Europe shortly.
I have received my own FAE sample from this first batch and can't find any trace of the chipset temp issue that plagued a few early samples. The chipset temp reads a nominal 45~50 degrees C in the BIOS.
With regards to DFI-Street I would first of all like to thank Fugger for killing any nonsense threads regarding events at the Street. AG is a guy that you either hate or love. It's as simple as that. If threads regarding the "demise" of the Street had been allowed to continue it would have quickly devolved into speculation and people lining up along the "hate" camp and the "love" camp. The resulting unneeded flamefest being the obvious outcome.
So to put this matter to a rest, AG was let go due to a difference of opinion between himself and DFI Management. He was not let go due to his somewhat "direct" treatment of people. It's no secret that DFI boards can be difficult to setup. As DFI support techs it is sometimes necessary for us to be brutally honest with people in order to get them back on track. You'd be surprised at the crazy ideas that people can come up with as to the source of problems. AG is a person who is very "direct" in his approach. Perhaps by some measures a bit much so, but this approach has helped untold numbers of people get a troublesome system back in order. I for one will miss the Street.
What is done is done and DFI has moved on. Someone has recently posted the link to our new forum. Rgone will be running it. I think we all know and respect Rgone and I hope to see you guys there.
To Fugger and any Mods please feel free to quote my comments regarding the Street as you see fit. It should help to quell any rumours and speculation that pops up on the subject.
DFI Support Europe.
I started that thread and take offense to charactericizing it as nonsenseOriginally Posted by Bulldog14
I think everyone deserve to know there will issues occuring, maybe the slant was wrong because AG comments were a bit extreme
But too often the consumer, us..does not see issues until after we spend hard earned money on something and get left holding the bag
I did not expect the thread to become inflammatory..it was just simply to provide people information
I am not looking for anymore trouble/flaming but it was not nonsense and the issue is done
I am glad the board is out and I look forward to buying one knowing Rgone and dfi club is around

Is this usually on QuadCore CPUs ?
The RAM clocking is INSANE, I wasn't able to pass over 536Mhz Cas 4-4-4 on my Asus Commando while on this DFI I have achived 631Mhz ! (passed 3dmark 2006 at 620).
That's with a Gskill PC8000HX.
However, more clocks doesn't make this mobo faster than the Commando. Overall performance I have obtained is worse than the Asus.
I'll try luck with the P5N32-E SLI and the BadAxe2 now.

I've seen only one or two of them going even over 400MHz fsb....

I will go back to my earlier statement, it is easy to take SuperPI screenshots with those settings but running games or Orthos will get you a lot of blue screens, not always, but more times than none.![]()
would you guys, with the bios you are using right now, recommend the rd600. how close is the bios from being "finalized" by techs?
So max FSB with QX6700 is around 340?
Thats rubbish.
Better than the 680i though I'm stuck at 312FSB
Whats with the lack of FSB clocking and the quads?
Probably the same reason the 6400's & 6300's allow you to reach higher FSB's than 6600's & up. 2 X 4mb Cache vs 4mb Cache vs 2mb cache I suppose.Originally Posted by easyrider

I always thought the quads would clock lower just because of the greater power and heat to cope with. Maybe you will see better results from 2nd generation processes

Just got my RD600. Did 429FSB right out of the box on my E6300. Ran ORTHOS Blend for about 20mins, no errors so far.
Like their NF590 SLI-M2R/G, the ICFX3200-T2R/G appears to be over-reporting CPU temperature by 8C. CoreTemp seems to be more accurate to me.
I suspect the NB temp could be over-reporting too, it reads over 60C but the NB heatsink doesn't feel that hot. Maybe the bad contact, will check on this later.
PWM temp is quite cool... about 30C-ish. Vdrop is about 0.03 when set to 1.4vcore (based on Smartguardian).
