The latest Alpha BIOS and AMD System manager will allow those FSB rates now. However, if you drop a 8800 or X1950 in the board, and then run dual 32M Super PI or Orthos, your FSB rates will come down in a hurry.Originally Posted by mascaras

I'm gonna do an exotic air cooling setup for my rig after a get my hands on this board...

Going by the chipset temps he is pushing 2V into the NB, all well and good for brownie points but under advice from AMD I was asked to quote safe limits for voltage etc which is around 1.5V max.Originally Posted by mascaras
We can do the same speeds here no problem...safer bet though is a high multi CPU just like it is on the 975 boards

As this board finds its way into more hands before release, I suspect we'll see a few more "I got 5XX FSB!!! on my RD600". 2007 is gonna start pretty well for the enthusiast community with the RD600 & Abit IN9-Max 32. Tony have you got yours yet? When you get a chance to toy with it, most of us would really like to know which of the two boards you "enjoyed" overclocking the most.

I have IN9, just got it booted up and started tests. You need to have a fan on the CPU header for it to boot and im water cooling so at first I thought the board was dead
Anyway...i will start a new thread with some early results, this one belongs to the RD600

So basically with a lower multi cpu, you're still better off with a P965 board?

Given the poor RAID performance being reported by a couple of sources on i680 boards vs. intel (see this thread), I'm curious how the HDTach results look for a RAID 0 array on this board?
Can anyone provide some?

You do not want a Kentsfield on this board if you plan on overclocking at this time. I am finding that a 345FSB or a little less is the absolute best for running a stable system. The board will POST up to 401x9 but is not worth anything more than a good screenshot. DFI has started to tune for Kentsfield now but I still expect the 975/965 boards to be the best bet for it.Originally Posted by flytek
Right after CES I should have our part two article up along with the BIOS settings for maximum performance.
On a side note - I did 545 on the RD600 with an old FX5200 card (too much heat and power draw with an 8800GTX to get past 530), voltages to their limits, Alpha BIOS, and it failed SP 1M three out of four times but by God I could get a screenshot of the one time it passed.I just love the run and gun results.

hahaha...
looking foreward to the expanded article
shamino did some messing with gtl-ref voltage and claimed to get an extra 30fsb from a kentsfield...but you've probably tried that allready.
his write up is on his site vr-zone.com
after the tweaks he said he could almost reach the fsb he achieved with a p5b-dlx iirc.
Sorry... thanks Tony. Would be nice to see a test with 4 drives in RAID 0 to compare with the peak output of the other chipsets that have all been tested with 4x 150GB Raptors (where i680 is looking bad), but I understand you probably test with what you have on hand.Originally Posted by Tony
Hopefully when people get these in their hands, we will see more RAID benching.
you guys heard about the latest delay >> March
what are the REAL issues plaguing these Tony? Surely you would have encountered some serious issues that are not allowing them to release these motherboards
