Does this also apply to the ddr2-800 version of these chips? Even though the specs say to run them at 4-4-3-8 @ 2.2v...if i go anything higher than 2.1v i get blue screen and reboot b4 it even loads into windows. Doesn't matter what timings. This is with the abit aw9d-max board. Bad or incompatible ram?

We are talking about the DDR2-800 version. And yeah your problem can be due to bad ram or motherboard incompatibility. You'll just have to check yourself. Try the ram on another board if you can, or RMA the ones you have and see if you get the same problem with the replacement they send you.

lol, dunno why i thought u guys were taliking about the T1000...well i ran memtest on them last night in dual channel and got a TON of errors in tests 2 through 8. Gonna go home and try 1 stick at a time and see what i get...im pretty sure either 1 or both sticks are faulty.

ok, so i was testing out the ram
I put my system at FSB 356, 1.4vcpu, 2.1vdimm, 1.65mch w/ 1:1 ratio @ 4-4-3-8. This put the ram at 712mhz. It passed dual SPi test.
I then just changed the ratio to 4:5, which put that ram at about 890mhz. It did not pass the dual SPi test. I even tried it at relaxed timings of 4-4-4-10, but still failed.
I would like to increase the voltage to these modules, but if i go anything over 2.1, i get blue screen and it does not boot into windows. I just ordered the team group cas4 ddr2 800 modules, hopefully i'll have more luck w/ those

btw, according to cpuz, mine are week 41 w/ blue head spreaders

I bought my ram after a little chatter on the forums got my attention.
also one good recomendation from a new found friend.
    I'm not complaining at all
I only wish that I would have ordered 2 more gig.

As far as i've figured out you have to take a look at the manufacturing date. The earlier date the better the RAM.
Mine can do easy DDR2-1000 @ 4/4/4 @ 2.25-2.3V (week 31) but i didn't take off the heatspreader to have a look, so i don't know for sure what IC's are used.

Your ram isn't as old as u think. Mine is week 19 and have the same behaviour with yours (GKX propably). So consider yourself lucky...
    Do they have silver heatspreaders?

I have week 1 silver heat spreaders! Bought them from Tulatin, unfortunately, my DS3 throws fits over 445fsb with them I think it's about time for a P5B-D!

I haven't read many success stories with this ram and DSx boards.
With P5B-Del, trust me, it's a safe bet...
