I got bored, so I bought me a GTR 2, wow!

    wow!

I like this game... Made much of improvement from the GTR and GT Racing 2002.

I've been playing all night yesterday. Took some screenshots from my plasmas.

In real-time playing the gaming experience is amazing, and the clarity is at max.

Yeah GTR2 is a great game ideal for huge widescreen TV's. I prefer the GT3 cars like the 911 RSR's and 360's they just handle sweet!

Which is your favourite track? I love the Czech Brno track, it's so technical.

I've been torturing that Lambo like mad, lol! I will try out some other cars later on. I like the dash of Lambo's interior.

My favorite track is Donington Park in England. I made it to first place! (I used to practice that track for ages playing Toca2 and SCGT, some old games.

Another nice thing this game has is that it's got "auto pilot" to let the Ai take over the driving. So I just sit back and watch the show.

I also noticed it lets you adjust your seat! Push forward or backward.

Yeah it's not an easy game at all, which is good, but also infuriating. A wheel is a necessity for this game without doubt.

Yea I've been using my Microsoft Side Winder game pad. It's crap for steering but at least gives me more than enough fun to play. I may get a wheel later on though.

Yes this game is very realistic and I just love those coc.kpit views.. Feels like I'm driving the real car.

I wish they get the windshield wiper going in the rain coz the wiper ain't moving.

^^^ There is alot of controversy about the wiper. Simbin said if they made the wiper move, they will have to do it for the rest of the cars in the field, which will cause graphical lag.

Just got it today. Came with a free copy of GT Legends to go along with the copy I already bought. Hands down GTR/GTR2/GTL is the best driving sim out there.

Well JasonDTM, that does sound logical, in the aspect of programming games. I got a fast system and it can handle it, but obviouly would be a problem for slower computer systems. I did hear that one of the developers/Mods maybe releasing a patch that includes wipers working. I want that rain drops wiped off my windshield you know.

Good to hear that the review sites rate this game 9.0~ 9.2, the Editor's choice.

That would be insane. On a side note I just got back from taking a few detailed grass/gravel samples.

Yea cavfire, I'm impressed. The developers paid a lot of attention to the details. There are still few areas lacking a little here and there but overall it's well improved.

I'd love to get some track mods later on. It would be wonderful to race in the Bathurst track in Australia. My favorite track... mmm!~

    Wanna bet?

There is a GTL Nordschleife port for GTR2. I must say, i had this game installed for dunno, 5 days? It just sucks... The cars are so weird. You have grip and grip and then the next second you are turned around. No way to catch the car, not even in the slightest. And i had absolutely NO feeling wheter i was coming close to the edge or not.

Driving with a MOMO Racing. I put my money on Live for Speed. Took many awards, in 2005 or 2006, can't remember, it got BH Motorsports best physics and best multiplayer award. GTR and GTL got the best sound and best moddable if i remember corrdctly. However, LFS is a pain with no wheel. It's practically a must.

GTR2 IS the solid game, no doubt.. I can feel force... force. mm mm

I'm waiting for a patch to enable windshield wipers. Racing in the heavy rain is just awesome. C'mon c'mon patch... come to PAPA.

push too hard end up using the tyres hence lack of grip

Trust me, i know how it is too eat the tyres in a game. It's on fresh tyres. Wamred up, perfect conditions. One moment it will feel like driving at 40 kph through the parabolica in Monza (last corner) which our punto with 100 wide tyres could do and the next moment you have no grip. I just don't know where the limits are. In LFS you can hear the slide coming, heck, even feel it. Dunno. I'll stop the thread jack and stuff, just wanted to explain some things. Many people think GTR (and GTL and rFactor - all on the same, ISI, engine) are not sims. I'm one of them.

And many think GTL, GTR2, and rFactor ARE driving sims... darn good ones. I'm one of them. After all, ISI's gmotor 2 engine can't be all bad if a real life race team uses it to prepare for races.

You like LFS, many do, good for, I'm glad. I like rFactor and GTR2, apparently many do. To each their own.

GTR2's physics and car handling is so damn realistic. It's insane..

I've been practicing in the rain(and in heavy rain fall) for days now. This is a good work out. Now if I could get that wiper blades to work..... I would like low speed and high speed wiper settings. My PC is very fast so it can handle all that load anyways... oh weee meow meow emwo

Well for sure the strong point of GTR and rFactor are real tracks and cars. GT4 also hs that but that's an arcade. So it would be used as a simulation for real teams. After all, the president of SimBin in the time GTR was made drove a Viper in the GTR championship if i'm not mistaken!

This is the first time I have ever heard someone call the Gran Turismo franchise "arcade".

Rain dancing is fun... Especially in the 993 GT2 Evo. :/ Full boost around 3100rpm and it just switches ends.. Also, the Porsche 911 handing characteristics are the best I've expierenced in any sim I've played. Gran Turismo 4 for the life of me I tried to get the Ruf CTR to throttle induce over-steer (which most 911's suffer. ) but it just wouldnt do it. Not many people know that the Porsche 911 suffers from mild understeer.

Mid-engine cars like their real life brothers snap spin (Spin without warning and very quickly) like each other..

JasonDTM, wow you sure know a lot about Porsche's.. I didn't know Porsche's suffer from mild understeer... since I hardly drive Porsche. Would you consider Acura NSX handle better than Porsche overall?

I've been driving the GT1 class Lamborghini Murcielago. I've got really used to this car's handling. I've been getting records with this thing.. Once I get a little tired of this car I will try the next. I want to get best out of each cars before I jump on other makes
