    Question Q6600 Kentsfield + P5B Deluxe = 8C bios temp ??

Strange thing has happened. I just swapped out my E6600 B1 for my Q6600 B3 Kentsfield on P5B Deluxe and now the bios temps are out of wack showing 8C to 9C bios temps for Q6600 B3 Kentsfield ??

I'm using Swiftech G4 Storm water cooling and my E6600 in bios at 2400mhz at 1.275v was 26-30C bios temp, but my Q6600 at 2400mhz at 1.275v is showing 8C ??

    P5B Deluxe with 0804 bios.

sensor is off, you need core temp for "accruate" temp

Thanks.. seems coretemp is working fine though

    @2400Mhz at 1.275v bios (1.232v)

    Idle

    Load

Seems on D975XBX Badaxe the 4 cores are registered differently from P5B Deluxe

    D975XBX shows
    1st cpu = cpu0 + cpu2
    2nd cpu = cpu1 + cpu3

    P5B Deluxe
    1st cpu = cpu0 + cpu1
    2nd cpu = cpu2 + cpu3

Strange the 1st core on 2nd cpu is always alot cooler!

How much improvement should I see if I install the Swiftech 226W TEC waterblock? From what I've been reading, I'm under the assumption that 226 watts just isn't enough for a quad core???

I'm running an apogee, m655 pump and the black ice pro dual 120 rad but my temps are insanely higher than what I would like them to be. Running at 3.4GHZ with everything on auto except FSB I'm seeing almost 70 at full load???

you running QX6700 or Q6600 ? what vcore ? QX6700 is around 15-25W hotter than Q6600 from reviews so your 70C load is probably normal considering my temps

Some of the P5B bios versions give low temp readings with Kentsfield. I was seeing the same low temps, until I flashed to another bios.

I'm using 0801. There was another bios (forgot which one) that gave me those low temp readings. My Kentsfield has been crunching WU's non-stop for two weeks at 100% load. It crunches four at a time which is nice.

I need to get better cooling! The Q6700 I have is stable at 3.8Hz with 1.47 vcore showing up in Asus Probe but under full load but my temps are topping out around 70-72, which is too high for my liking. When I drop the vcore down to 1.41 at 3.6GHz, it tops at around 60. Man, these CPU's are SWEEEET! I just encoded a complete dvdr in 46min.
