Unhappy Just tried Kingston's DDR 500 and a no go

I don't know if it's the HyperX and A1 issue showing up but I can only boot at 7,3,3,3, anything less and it beeps. Also the best I could do was 200FSB @ 7,3,3,3. I tried most BIOS(1.0, 1.2, 1.4b, 1.7) and none of them made any difference. Maybe I'll wait for NewEgg to carry the 256MB version of XMS PC4000 and give that a try. I guess I'll keep my TwinMOS a little longer and maybe do a vdimm mod now,

I know this is rough to say, but I beleive that ram was meant for the P4 mainly.

From what I just experienced, it looks like it was. I'm just waiting now for the Corsair version to show up on NewEgg and if that doesn't work out, then I'll just wait for better timing PC3700 versions,

Hmmm, similar to the Geil PC3500. Would'nt run on any of my AMD rigz, but put it in an intel rig and it hauls ass.

I say that mainly cause of the cas latency, see at 3-4-4 it's not really a huge loss on the P4, but on a AMD cas 3-4-4 is basically suicide. this ram requires 2.8 volts to run stock (if I remember right) and thats for cas 3, getting to cas 2 would seem to require suicidal voltages.
at the moment, in my opinion, the best ram for AMD is still good DDR 3500 which is 100% capable of cas 2-2-2 at insane FSB's if you can pump the volts up and and have some Vdd mod too

All of the current PC4000 by any manufacturer, is simply not for AMD boards. They run OK on P4's at high fsb but loose timings. I just got 2-512 Mushkin 3500 level2 2-2-2 with good old BH5 chips and they do dual/sync 230 2-2-2-11 solid on NF7-S, although they are a bit pricey, at least they do what they say!

Kingston and A1 Nforce chipset don't play nice together at all. I think it's the nforce 2 problem personally since mine runs fine in my older nforce 2 chipset.

So in other words, most of this "PC4000" is just the same crap with extremely slow timings?

bascially. all the higher end memory is tested on p4 rigs. i have yet to see memory that was designed to run on amd systems at 250fsb+

No I think the chips are designed to run at higher fsb's at low timings form the start. Seems like ocz and corsair are using hynix in these modules, some samsung has been used as well. I'm not sure the NF2 NB would take much over 230 or so even if the ram could handle 250 2-2-2 for whatever reason.

Oddly enough my PC3000 HyperX can dish out anything I throw at it, so far. I'd rate this stuff against any good pc3200 especially considering I only paid $45 a stick for it. I'm hoping 225MHz+ out of it. 210 is simply barely a challenge at 2.85V. If you want to use Kingston on NF2 use the pc3000 and not the 3500. Save a few bucks and crank as much speed as possible out of it... Oh ya I ONLY use 2-2-2-5 timings, or tighter, no point in using any higher timings on NF2.
Take out your ex tonight... one bullet should do it.

I've effectively killed my sig because it is no longer accurate. Oh well!
