Water blocks threading and fittings

Ive read all the Thread and am still confuse. Some says that these DD G1/4 High Flow Fittings - 1/2" ( http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=3979 ) WIll fit the Storm and MCW60 and some says that they tried and did'nt worked out. Will they work and not leak ? and will i have to use some of this ? http://www.petrastechshop.com/ptthta1wi50r.html

Storm rev2 ..you can use the O-ring from plastic barb and the EK barb and get a nice seal or you can use just DD barb alone

On the MCW60...you need to dremel down the lips on the MCW60 in order for the EK barb to work, the DD barb fits fine with no mods

Im not interested in EK's barbs as im not sure if i can get them in Canada whitout having them to be shiped over-sea. So i'd go whit the DDs instead. So basicly the DDs will fit on the Strom whit the O-ring, right ? and also use them on the MCW60 whit the O-right to ? and i should be good to go ?

i gotta tell ya. it was cheaper for me to buy and ship eddy barbs to my house in the midwest than it was to do the same from dangerden. you should price it out and see for yourself

DD barbs will fit the storm and MCW with its O-ring and nothing else

hand tighten, then an extra 1/4- 1/2 turn but no more

Actually, i was about to order them from Performance Pc's as i need a Fan grill for my PA120.3 but im considering just ordering the fan grill there and all my other stuff From Petra's. They delivered my Combo DDCT-1 pump and top whit such excellent Conditions! And it wass International shipping so had to e-mail them but it was so easy and the Box arrived in Perfect Condition, perfectly packaged whit everything in it! E-mailed back Quoc to tell him a Big Thanks and how excellent there services are! Yet another Idiot happy whit his stuff that he got from Petra's Tech Shop! a Big Thanks!

I think it would a good idea for EK or DD or Petra to make some 1\4 NPSM barbs to work with swifty blocks, with a few more threads than the current barbs have to make some people feel a bit more at ease.

I ran my setup for about a day, and the whole line is full of what I can best describe as silverish-metallic dust. Now I get to take the entire watercooling rig apart and start over in order to get things cleans again. Not too happy about that.

To this day, I still don't understand what is so wrong with the original plastic barbs. It seems to me that one only digs a hole with metal barbs.. and that metallic dust is like jumping into the hole and sealing up oneself with dirt.

I agree, especially since in the US BSPP stuff is hard to find.

That Aquacomputer block uses g 1/8 threads.

My Danger Den TDX has G1/4" threads. You could make the list in 1st post shorter. All Watercool and Alphacool blocks use G1/4" threads, expcept Alphacool MCX (no thread, direct fitting for 3mm ID tubing) and Watercool Micro (M5). EK and HWLabs (Black ICE radiators) use also G1/4" only. Aqua Computer components use normally G1/8", but there are some exceptions: The flow meter, the radiators and the new Aqautube G1/4" use G1/4".

I didn't see this chart in this, but I think it is pretty helpful (at least it was for me).

Pipe size is the accepted industry designation, not the actual measured size. To determine pipe size, first use a ruler to measure the outside diameter (OD) for male ends or inside diameter (ID) for female ends. Then, round up the measurement to the closest OD or ID listed in the chart and select the corresponding pipe size. For example, if the OD or ID measures 1 3/16", the next highest OD or ID in the chart is 1 3/8", and the corresponding pipe size is 1".

Use OD for a male threaded end.
Use ID for a female threaded end.
