    This is an extreme edition, isn't it?
    Why do you not just get the multi up to 10-12 an check out for max frequenzy?
    Better way than changing boards ^^

    Nice cpu

    N680i or BX2 boards probly will run ok. with this cpu.

    Now to find ram to run >1333 1:1 with tight timings

    That should answered all the questions.

    6850 is not an EE, which is why there is no unlocked multi in the ES.

    The only question is whether the 1333 FSB chips will have higher max frequencies. Otherwise E6850, E6600 and E4300 basically all have the same x 9 multiplier.

    This cpu is not extreme edition but ıt has unlocked multiplier. we'll try P5B dlx mobo because current bios not change multiplier.

    That's interesting because that "Daily Tech" link also lists a "non extreme edition" E6800 that intel will be releasing that has a locked 11X multi.

    Still we are interested to see how much more juice that e6850 has beyond the FSB limit of the mobo.

    Retail E6850 will be locked 6-9x or 6-11x multi but this ES chip unlocked 6-20x multi . Asus p5W64 ws-pro bios shown multi between 6-20x but not available up to 9X now
