Ok thanks for the info, I actually have the PC2-6400 HZ Ram, but I'm contemplating switching to the PC2-8000 HZ's.

Okay thanks, would appreciate the info.

Have a friend here that solved the problem by using first another set of RAM and in BIOS raise the ddr voltage to 2,2V. Remove the used ram, reinstall the HZ and it will work fine

    Here some videos

    An update of my situation:

I received my G.Skill 6400 HZ's today and the system booted find with them. I adjusted the memory settings in the BIOS to the stock settings for the 8000 HZ's and rebooted with the 8000 HZ's installed and the system did recognize them. For those of you with the 8000's, you'll need some slower RAM to get your system up and running.

On a side note, the 6400HZ's I've got booted at 1000Mhz 4-4-4-5 without any problems. Props to G.Skill.

H'mm so basically I could aquire some cheap generic 256mb ram? change the ram settings, save them & switch off then change to the 8000 HZ's & should work....?

mine is 2t. i have read that 1t wont run above 800 or 900mhz on the evga (maybe all 680i?). i have run it(1t) at 880mhz 3-3-4-12. i will check to see if it will run over 900mhz, but i cant reboot right now i am in the middle of something. i would report my timings but there is nothing around that will report them in windows reliably.

yeah sounds like your sticks are dead grinch

how much voltage did you pump them with before they died.

i really dont recommend anyone using more than 2.2v with this ram unless you have a fan blowing air directly onto them. none of this "my case has good ventilation" crap cuz your case aint got nuttin, you need a fan blowing right on them, and depending on the heat of the surrounding hardware 2.2v may need a fan.

    that being said

1111mhz 5-5-5-15 2.15v no amount of voltage lets me go higher, and i definately can not lower them and go tighter.

the 680i does not have any issues with the HZ ram if you cant boot up with them then your ram is wacko and you will need to look into contacting gskill for some support and possible RMA.
the gskills run fine at 1.8v default bios.

i need to edit my last statement.
i have never wanted to go beyond 2.3v frankly it never mattered before.
    but playing around
1200mhz 5-5-5-15 2.4vnot 100% stable, probably needs one more bump in voltage to be 100%
    1150 5-4-4-15 2.35v (and hoping for 2.3)
    1111mhz 5-4-4-12 2.15v

yes grinch especially since it has the EPP,, you can setup the EPP on the mobo to automatically scale to the that overclock setting built into the ram.

i think but am not sure, but think they are D9GKX which are better than the gskill HZ's. which are D9GMH.

take the model number and go to the thread here that tells what each kit has for IC's. but im pretty sure they are D9's

maybe see how much the gskill 6400 GA are.

Damn sorry to read this. You have 300.00 ram and have to get new one to make it run. Did you give G.Skill tech support a call? You should have no problems with the ram. I have 3 sets of the G.Skill and can run it on anything i throw them into.

I have a Brand NEW set of Crucial 25th anniversay if oyu want to try them.

i dont see why brand new sticks of ram would need cleaning.
my hz's work just fine on this mobo...2.4v seem to be the ticket for overclocking them...i have a 80mm fan placed right on top of em.
@Grinch hope you get it sorted out....rma maybe?
