    my dd gx2 blocks are just a big open cavity, with some small raised copper fins only about an inch long in one area near a barb for flow direction I think.

    the block on this one is much larger than the dd gx2 solution, but not sure when compared to their 8800 offering.

    Also, the channels on this block are higher, and therefore it flows more water

    if you look carefully at the channels, water that passes thru the shorter channels moves quicker than the water that flows thru the longer ones.

    guess where the shorter channels are placed with respect to components on the board.

    so it seems that as the gpu probably gets the hottest, its cooling water flows quicker than what is over the mem chips

    This is also being looked at as a base plate to cover all components and possibly allow users to blot up their existing solutions, such as one or a pair of mcw 60's
