If the ridiculous prices of the Asus 680i boards is just too damn much to swallow, theres a saving grace in all this commotion with the 650i series of boards.
they are basically the little brother of the 680's.
features SLI still, but at 8 x 8, not 16 x 16.
seems to lack the big features of the 680i boards, and has the usual clutterd caps around the socket, which the 680's are nice and clean around the socket, so its something to think about, if your going to phase change.
otherwise, no big deal....
no heatpipes, and built in sound...
does not having the on/off switchs, or the clear cmos button like the striker does, but then again, neither does the P5N32-E SLI.
so it's definatly looking like a board with a lower price tag.
should be a good board, especially if you want something more affordable then the $300+ boards.
I would assume this board should hit the shelves rather quick....
wasnt even 2 days, from the time I heard of the P5N32-E SLI that it was at ZZF and Newegg, so hopefully the 650's show up soon too.
