I hope for downclocked GTXs as well.. 8800GTS might be an improvement, but compared to it's bigger brother (at stock, Perkam, at stock ), it's just not worth saving the money, IMHO (if you have the money in the first place )
Also, in the Chinese review, WTH happens in 3dmark05 to the 8800GTS' performance?? I sense chinese advertising there

    Best Regards

Anyone else notice that in 3dmark03/05 adding 4xAA barely, and I mean BARELY effects the score, even at 1600x1200? Sounds to me like with a little driver tweaking the same may happen in games as well.

Well, with newer cards, 03 and 05 are nothing but a CPU test. You really do have to crank up the resolutions to test out the card(s).

And then you'll have to look solely at the SM 2.0 and 3.0 scores, as the overall score will still be limited by your CPU ...
On a side note, from the 8800GTS review, it says a 20% performance for the GTS compared to the GTX... Am I the only one thinking that's a hellofalot performance???

That was at 1600x1200... The GTX takes less than a 1k performance hit for adding 4xAA and 16xAF in 03 and 05.

    That's insane.

Today's the day... come on!!!!! When will there be an in-depth review???

I'm staying up all night for this. If the NDA is so stupid to even include a specific hour like say, 9:00 AM Eastern Time, then I just wasted my time watching the review websites like a hawk...

VAPOR EDIT: rumor has it 11AM EST, if it says don't post unless you have a review link or a comment on a review....don't post unless you have a review link or a comment on a review

Any reports about the noise of the stock HSF? I imagine it to be louder than the X1900XTX

Impressive? Its obscene. SLI should knock every game on its butt. Where's the Oblivion high res everything on test?

Take a look at the GTS performance.....incredible.

Maybe not the best review since it's lacking proper AA+AF explorations, but wow hehe....

    Fortsetzung folgt

    corresponding:
due to the lack of time they'll release a part 2 of this review where they're going bench games in high resolutions/high quality. additionally, a comparison with the 7950gx2 and 7900gtx is planned.

i'm looking forward to part2 of the review - impatientness is killing me

if anybody finds some high rez tests done with SLI on AM2 platform please let us know.

a tester i know has seemingly found that the 975 chipset is actually the bottleneck at high rez...
when tested on AM2 the scores were far greater :o

so now i'm thinking in SLI at high rez this may become even more shockingly apparent

    HeavyWeight Reviewers taking their time

Not to mention the primary rule when buying an 8800 will now be:

    Bottleneck, bottleneck, bottleneck.

yup exactly what this tester found...
much to his supprise the AM2 platform was producing better benches and higher framerates in games than a 4ghz conroe when running 1600rez or above...

also he said running 1:1 gave a big boost in '05 which tends to indicate chipset latency is the real bottleneck at high end gamers resolutions..

this might mean that for the high end gamer AMD could be the platform to have :O

anyway it will be very interesting if someone could test this strange situation for us
