Mine wont boot over 420..... tried everything, three different bios, all the volt options everything.....
Hi everyone. Here are my results with the AW9D-MAX w/ bios 1.2 with a TT big Typhoon
24/7 stable settings 410x8
Highest FSB without going over the top with volts and temps 434x8
I got this with 1.88v vMCH and and some 12cm fan doing about 4000rpm pointing straight at the NB. I took off the little max plate off the heatsinks, no doubt this improves airflow.
I gotta say this board rocks, I have had zero problems with it so far. Having said that, My 6400 can go higher, but I will wait for a RD600 board![]()

Cmon hipro if you can get 400FSB on i875 then 500FSB on 975 should be no problem for you!!!~

Argh, time for time this board began to suck. It won't boot over 425 MHz FSB and just 400 MHz FSB I can't get orthos blend stable. Really crap. No mods done on this board, but I tried all BIOS and all necessary voltage and speed options.
No way, can't get it stable. Additional fans are on the NB, won't helpt to reach higher FSB. I can test if it is useful to put water on the NB. But I don't think so. Sorry, but I'm fed up with this board. I bought it because I thought it is the best board for my E6600, but now I have to look for an Asus (cold boot issueand no mounting holes on the NB, but I hope, I can use the stock fan).
Does anyone has an idea to boost up my Abit AW9D Max before I sell it?![]()
I say wait till next bios release.Originally Posted by Ultrazauberer

First to 5Ghz on the AW9D-MAX?
The time is slow as batI know but I'm just proud I managed to complete the 32M run.

I'm running an Asus 7950GX2 on this board with BIOS 1.2. The problem is, CPU-Z is reporting the PCIe link width as X8 instead of X16. Anyone have an idea how to get this thing into X16 mode?
i think this is going to happen with this card.Originally Posted by Deke
i can't remember what page it's on but there's a discussion about this.
well.... 24 hours later and i'm still fighting with this board...
so far i've been able to do 7 hours orthos blend at 10 x 365 with the 4:5 ratio
1.45 vcore
2.20 vdimm
1.70 vmch
i was also able to do small fft 9 x 412 1:1 or ~3708 for 7 hours as well
1.50 vcore
2.20 vdimm
1.75 vmch
i tried doing blend with these settings and i errored out w/in 5 minutes.
i've determined orthos/dual prime to fail at either 3 minutes, 5 minutes or 10 minutes.
anyone else notice that instance of prime/orthos does about 3 iterations before the other instance does the 2nd one?
maybe it's just my board.
i've also played with moving the mem around the slots.
i was using the blue - blue configuration but whenever orthos/prime would fail, i'd get a blue screen
then i tried blue-black configuration and it'd get an error instead of blue screening.
tried black-black and got the same thing (error rather than blue screen).
so after 24 hours, 10 x 365 4:5 is as stable as this board will get.
All 79050GX2 cards will give you the same. The other 8x is used "inside" the card to link the 2 GPUs. The "thing" connecting the 2 cards is a PCIex bridge (8x).Originally Posted by Deke
This is why a 7950GX2 SLI setup requires just 1 SLI bridge. On the 7900GX both GPUs had access to the PCIex, that's why it shows 16x - on the other hand, it required 2 SLI bridges.

Why do you think my CPU is walling? It's running great: 3,8 GHz @ 1,55V-1,57V tested for 3 hours orthos small ftt. So I don't think my CPU is walling, it's the board. Also 3,6 GHz @ 1,5V are 6,5 h orthos small ftt stable. How can I find out if my cpu is blocking?Originally Posted by fhpchris
Sorry, but this board is annoying me!![]()
shimmishim, try running regular prime95 instead of orthos.
i'm using stressprime. i'll switch it up and try regular prime when i get home this afternoon from work.Originally Posted by Nettwerk

Not first (http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=119338), but very nice to see some high benching numbers on the AW9. What week is that CPU?Originally Posted by SLi_dog
You should try running the 11x or 12x, and maybe 4:5 aswell![]()
