Signal Hill, CA – Wednesday 11th, October 2006 - Swiftech™ today announced the release of the GX2 spacer kit for nVidia® GeForce™ 7950GX2 dual-GPU boards. The kit is intended to enable off-the-shelf water-cooling solutions for this board. “The 7950GX2 features tightly spaced PCB’s which forces overclockers and silent-computing users to purchase expensive custom cooling systems for it. With this kit, enthusiast users now have access to a low-cost solution utilizing off-the-shelf high-performance & low-noise water-blocks such as Swiftech’s MCW60”, said Gabriel Rouchon, Swiftech Chairman & CTA. While the kit precludes the use of Quad SLI configurations, the company feels that this solution will satisfy the vast majority of the target audience for this particular board.

The spacer kit is composed of a set of:

• 3 Male-Female 4-40 standoffs
• 1 Female-female pass-thru standoff
• 1 Female-Female 4-40 standoff
• 1 4-40 philips screw
• 1 extended PCB.

this also opens up the GX2 to Dry Ice and LN2 cooling now as well

I think this might work in Quad SLI on a board like the Intel Badaxe, since it's got all those extra PCI EX Slots...
of course you need modded drivers and all... but while it definatly doesnt look like it would work on most boards, I think theres a board or two it might work with in Quad.

I do not think any of the quad SLI drivers have been hacked to work on 975, but someone did seem to get it to work on the P5W64 WS Pro, but it was not any faster than a single card

i am really liking this product from swiftech since it opens up a few possibilities to cooling this card. i fired of an email to swiftech on tuesday got a reply wednesday. my question was when watercooling and using the spacer kit like the setup in the second pic in post 1, how would i cool the pci-e splitter chip. the response i got was to use a ram sink though not included in the kit so my advice to any one else looing for an alternative to the dangerden gx2 block would be the spacer kit, and extra 8 ramsinks (1 for pcie splitter chip the rest on mosfets) and two mcw60s with ramsinks :P not a bad alternative

edit: the 2 mcw60s would be reusable for future cards since i doubt a dd gx2 block will fit any other config without mods
