7900GTX in Half Price Only! - MSI NX7900GTO-T2D512E

NVIDIA launched three new products to be the successor of 7600GT in
September; with much better performance and acceptable price, it strikes
    against ATI mid-high graphic cards.

One of this three new products is 7900GTO, with the same pipelines and core
frequency but lower memory frequency in 1320MHz.

    7900GTO Core/Mem 650/1320Mhz
    7900GTX Core/Mem 650/1600Mhz
    What’s the difference between 7900GTX and 7900GTO?
The GTO cost higher then 7900GS, what’s the real diference?

We take the only option with MSI NX7900GTO-T2D512E for test. It packed
by hi-end color box with bright color.

    Open the 7900GTO color box.

    Accessories:
The packing and accessories is FULL! even it only sold under 300USD.

    Overview (front):
512MB DDR3, it looks totally the same with 7900GTX and only half price!!!

    Overview (back):
    P.S.: It’s 7900GTX indeed!

    Dual-DVI and TV-Out support.

    Overview (right side):

Hi-efficiency cooler; for GTX hi-end product only.

    Ready to test SLI mode

Graphic cards consume more and more power watts for 3D performance,
especially in dual VGA mode such as SLI and CrossFire. If you want SLI, 500
    W PSU is necessary.
A good PSU can be use for a long time; so, please don’t be stingy in buying
PSU. Corsair HX620W is the best PSU I have ever used; it always keeps cold
and silent even in full SLI or CrossFire test loading.

    Testing Platform:
    CPU:INTEL Core 2 Extreme X6800
    MB: DFI INFINITY 975X/G
    DRAM:Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C3
    VGA:MSI NX7900GTO-TD512E
    HD:Seagate 7200.7 80GB
    POWER:Corsair HX620W Modular Power Supply
    Cooler:Sonic Tower

    CPU 334X11=>3375Mhz
    DRAM DDRII 1002 CL3 4-4-9
    VGA 600/1320Mhz

Single card mode for a piece of cake!

    AquaMark3

    7900GTO Overclock result: 705MHz core/ 1700MHz Mem.
It’s very easy to OC your 7900GTO even over 7900GTX.

What can I say? It’s obviously that 7900GTO and 7900GTX are “Twins”! 7900
GTO has a little bit lower memory clock but only HALF price, it’s worth to buy
it right now! Seems like ATI 9500NP refresh to 9700 and overclock to 9700
Pro, that worth a big value!

7900GTO has almost the same OC ability with 7900GTX. Will 7900GS/ 7950GT
be beat by 7900GTO? According to information from NVIDIA, there are few
7900GTO will be seen in channel. So, if you like it, just buy it.

SLI mode, BIOS upgrade and other advance testing will be coming soon…

Is it even necessary to flash the BIOS? With that kind of overclock with the stock BIOS is seems totally unneeded.

About refresh BIOS to 7900GTX, this card direct up to GTX clock 600/1600
MHz and stable, but as my experience, this update is not really useful for
    overclock.

7900GTO exactly to be the best value VGA product during whole year 2006,
The graphic pipeline, outlook and components placements all the same as
7900GTX, you only have to refresh the BIOS or easy overclock to make it
    become 7900GTX,
Only limited quantity and not enough channel to sell this product is the issue,
hope NVIDIA can supply this great value product more and longer.

These are simply 7900GTX cards with Samsung GDDR3 that was responsible for all the problems earlier this year. The 1320 clock is what the problem cards ended up running without issues, so this is what they now guarantee. The current cards are Infineon based. Good way to get rid of the potentially problematic cards.

The EVGA can simply use the EVGA GTX BIOS or any other, for that matter.
