    Best bios for AW9D-MAX

I just ordered a abit motherboard from a dealer i sweden. Which bios is the best out right now?

    My rig will be:
    ABIT AW9D-MAX
    C2D E6600
    TEAM GROUP PC6400 2X1024
    NVIDIA 7800GTX ( X1950XTX COMING SOON )
    SEASONIC S12 600W

I like the voltage to vdimm, around 2,6vdimm i can run my memorys at 1200mhz with 5-4-4-15......

Anyone who reach fsb 500+ yet with the abit?

Well i'm testing this mobo for 3 days.
    Some problems:
    TAT is not working
i test a 6600 and when i down multiplier cpu fre don' t change, bios reporting bad FSB
    i run 6600 at 3.6 (400*9) a 6800 don't like high fsb with this mobo, with p5bdlx 460 is ok
i use bios 1.2 Abit must do more for their bios. Herd to find a mobo these times.......
TAT is important, because we don't know if temps reported by bios are correct..

my 6800 doen't like high FSb with this board either. I have some teem group memory and it wont run 400 fsb stable at any multi. I thought it was the memory but it may be the board.

The Mushkin in my sig will do 445 x 9 on my Abit AW9D-Max. I haven't tried lower multis yet and am not in a rush. If I was after that I would have stuck with the P5B Deluxe Wifi. I prefer a 1067 strap personally and do not like the hit that comes along with 1333 that enables +500 FSB on many boards. Also many of the same boards start applying the 1333 strap as low as a 400 FSB.

BTW I have had good luck with BIOS 1.2 as well.

Flash board from windows with Uguru latest version downloaded from abit site, got multiple reports of bad flashes using dos , cant recover it after without changing bios chip or reprogramming it.
Do it from windows if dont want risk your board

Mine flashed perfectly in Windows. Winflash options used are important.

Yup add me to the dos bad flash list too

Ordered a new bios chip from abit and then hotflashed my bad chip with it. Now I have a backup no more worries

Also my 6600 ran fine at 9x400 on this board with 1.47v. My 6800 needs 1.6 set in bios to post at that speed. The funny thing is I can boot into windows and lower the voltage to 1.4813 in OCguru and run orthos all day long. It just needs 1.6 to post. Weird. Overall this board rocks, the fan controls are awesome.

My 6800 does the same thing!! I need 1.58 to post at 400x9 , but mine is not orthos stable at all fails in 2 seconds. with the 11 multi i can run the same speed with 1.41. I think this board has issues with 6800's and lower multi's.
Maybe when they release a bios to unlock the multi's for the 6800 on this board they will fix that issue too.

Hopefully it will be a bios fix. Both my 6600 and 6800 ran 9x400 around 1.47-49 volts fine on my p5wdh. The 6600 is just fine on the abit, It just dosent like the 6800 for some reason unless i crank up the vcore in bios to make it post. I bought the 6800 because I will be switching to phase for the first time pretty soon. Im sure it will like the 6800 a lot more with that

I started a thread on the abit forums and other people are also having problems with this board and a 6800. Hopefully they will address the 6800 issues with the next bios release.

I used Flashmenu in windows. You could also use winflash. With my Asus board I did essentially the same thing via Asus update. I just pointed it at the file I wished to use.
