That's a noobish approach. First test them - they may OC quite well (>DDR1000). There are many D9 series, that will OC worse than powerchips. You hear D9 and you think - holly , they will OC like hell. Yea, right. Wishful thinking. Some of D9 chips are really bad when it comes to OC. D9G chips are excellent and fatbody are very good, but the others are not so great

    It's superpi 1m stable 475@4-4-4-15@2.35v and superpi 32mb 475@5-5-5-15@2.3v.

    And what about this one?
First is powerchip for sure. Kingston may be PCS as well, but here i'm not 100% sure.

Well, you may expect more than DDR2 667. It all depends on how good the sticks are. Moreover, without correct settings and previous OC experience you may end up in DDR900, while an experienced overclocker could reach DDR1000 or more. Try 4-4-4-x and 5-5-5-x with different alpha timings and share your results. Try with voltage as high as 2.3V or even 2.4V but remember to provide them with some cooling (an 92mm fan should be ok). DDR1000 is possible if you have a good mobo, experience and flawless settings. Also bare in mind, that you possess a value stick, that's not to OC well. DDR1000 means a fantastic 50% OC while DDR900 means good 35% OC - that's a lot

You see the main problem because I want to have Micron D9 is that I always been so stupid and bought RAM and I was alwayz sorry.I still regret that I didn't have a good bh-5 ram.Only one stick that worked very bad.Teh second thing is That I could had had Corsair XMS 2 or what's it called if the shop where I returned my CPU to change it with ram(the CPU burned down) would had in stock those ram. They didn't and by the time they told me that the ram prices got high and I couldn't buy OCZ or other cuz there were expensive so I got stuck with value. As alwayz.I'm not that unhappy just that I didn't had luck with PS memory from Corsair but I did have luck with some Corsair VS PR series that did 275mhz 2.5-3-3-6 @2.7v.stable.Hope I can get them high up.Can you please tell me where can I find some good micron based memory?series or smthn?the ones that are cheap but good at the same time.Thnx

I may be looking for some value DDR2 (prolly 533 or 667) in the near future. Have u guys seen any of those that cant reach DDR2-800 with like 2.2v and bad timings ? 800Mhz would be ok for me. Tnx.

good and cheap RAM is Team Extreme. Just 108$. WOW! They are Micron D9GMH based modules. They can easily reach DDR1000 CL4 with ~2.3V. There are also Team extreme modules DDR533 3-3-3-x and they are Micron D9GCT, but are not as good as D9GHH and even more expensive.

If you want good Micron, you are going to spend some real cash.

Even the Teamgroup 2gb kits cost 275+$ now.

No need to be micron. Any value ram 533Mhz/667Mhz that can reach 800Mhz at bad timmings is already ok to me. I have access only to value corsair, kingston, OCZ, geil and supertalent.

Purchase any DDR2 667 - there shouldn't be problems even with DDR900. Elpida chips can do DDR900 CL5. Geil DDR667 CL4/5 are based on them. But team sticks seem inexpensive, so consider buying them.

Got the same Corsair Value Ram stick. VS1GB667D2

    chip markings :

    64M8CFEG
    PS0900631
    TAZ621-L93G

I think that a very good way to know the chip brands is compare his actual size with others in manufacturers datasheets. The chips in this VR stick measure 11.4 x 11 milimeters.

This stick does 880mhz 5-4-4 at 2 volts

    will test soon at 2.2v

    tested a little bit more:

Single Channel 1GB Corsair Value Ram VS1GB667D2

    chip markings :
    64M8CFEG
    PS0900631
    TAZ621-L93G

    880mhz 5-4-4 at 2 volts

    750mhz 4-4-4-12 at 2.1v
    770mhz 4-4-4-12 at 2.2v

too little performance gain... from 5-4-4 to 4-4-4 at 375mhz , 0.35 seconds on SuperPI 1M

again , tested only in single channel.

i tested my Kingston Value 667 2x1gba bit with those chips, this is just aproximate
    all at 4-4-4-12

    2.0 - 410mhz
    2.1 - 425mhz
    2.2 - 440mhz
    2.4 - 475mhz

since i dont have much cash atm im more than happy with them since i bought them before the big price jump and also cause any micron that is available here is at least twice the price. It is by no means serious benching ram but not bad at all for 24/7

Mach82, did u play enough with this rtam to see what alpha timmings it likes, i just dont have enough time, would appriciate it if u caould post some

here u go, the stick, box and the chip, these can also do 3-3-3-12 with more volts over 400 but it doesnt seem any faster than 4-4-4-12, i don't have time to really test what they can do.

one thing to be aware of, i also tested KVR 533 2x1gb with PCS chips that were not relabeled, and they were awfull, bearly 400 4-4-4-12 with alot of volts. max was a bit over 400 even with 5-5-5-15, not sure if it was just that pair or those chips are bad but ill post the codes of the chips later, i didn't take a pic of them but i wrote them down on a peice of paper that i have to find

Hm, intel platform should be better for max mem speed. Here is complete timming for my corsair, it's default settings.

You know, some corsair value ram wasn't . My friend took a look at his corsair value ram, almost threw it into the trash cause it didn't look like promising ram (value). He decided to put the pair of corsair value with his team xtreme, hit around 1000mhz. did even better than his mushkin ram. incredible.

by the way, how would you set a 92mm fan next to your RAM while setting it in a case? I want to do that with my OCZ, but i'm finding it a little hard to keep it where i want it.
