    Thanks. I was using 1.575v.

I'm not interested in FSB. I'm interested in total speed. CPU will easily do 460FSB on this board. It will also do 530+ on the P5B Dlx.

With an X6800 you don't necessarily need to do 400+ FSB. Running high FSB will not necessarily give you the fastest time. There are other factors like RAM speed and timings.

70C at idle? That doesn't look right.

Not sure how that's stable when its hitting 94 degrees.

If you've turned off throttling then surely you're damaging the chip? If you have, then it will be clocking it down won't it?

Nooh, have you tried using another program to monitor the temps? If not, try CoreTemp...

thx, but I wasn't asking for vmods and i am already registered for some time now

i don't know what dumo meant with 1.7 OVP, i also did the mod and trimmed up to 1.75v with no problem, i didn't go any higher, but i think that i shouldn't be a problem.

    Thats a good news zbo

I haven't done any mods on my second board here (and OVP was with DG2, so I assumed its the same with 64) The first board won't post probly because of corrupted bios or other cause.

Heres testing with cold.....1 core disabled (around -35C) before go for really cold one

    @ >1.65 Vcore bios..its starts to undervolted by .03V

Heres tried max bios 1.7Vcore..Both cores enabled..

im @ 456fsb on air, no mods, cpu cooling limiting fsb, ill be going on water shortly..

    but i cannot run 1:1 @ 456 (435 max 1:1), 2:3/4:5 is fine, ram runs @ 500 4-4-4 @ 4:5.
guys, is it a bios setting/chipset/mobo/cpu thing? what can i do to get higher 1:1?

    cpu/mobo/ram in sig

    tnx!

I did not turn throttling off .

If you check my system was cold form the inside and the temps of CPU are high , that is wrong , you can expect the system temps to be much higher than that.

I have lapped my CPU and I have used coolaborotory liquid pro , also have a great HSF , it just doesnt add up right for it to be 94c.

When it was at default speed it showed 45c , its not possible , also usually in the past when I tried to max something pentium D and my temps were about 70c I could not go higher and it would not post there is definitely something wrong with the temp sensor.

If you run prime and you start to get errors then its not stable but you run four hours of it then it is stable enough to run 4hrs at 100% , also when does that happen normally in a CPU's lifetime.

Even when I am gaming it only goes to about 50%

A bad contact could mean your CPU temp is a lot higher than the system temp, it doesn't necessary follow that your system temp has to be high as well.

If you haven't disabled throttling, and that 94°C temperature is being reported correctly, then the CPU will be throttling down to a lower speed. This will give the illusion of the overclock being stable because ORTHOS wont crash, it'll just run slower.

Even 70°C is too hot for 24/7 load imo.

EDIT: You have a lovely kitten! What breed is it?

Nice results there Dumo. You always seem to get some of the best boards. Cant wait to see some LN2 runs on it.

Hey guys I have this motherboard with a 6600 paired with th eopb edition ram. But I cannot seem to overclock well. Anyone care to share some tips? Could it be due to the chip limitation? Its a week 24 chip. Or does using sata hdd affect the overclocking performance? I used 1.4 (Ai booster) to get my 6600 to 3gig but it is only stable for 15-20 min. vmch is 1.6, vfsb is auto, vdimm is 2.1 at 5 5 5 15. So I think that the ram would not be the limiting factor. Any help?
