yes the s3 is the same as ds3 except for different cap type and up until rev2 ds3, different nic.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but is the conductive ink pen Vdroop mod stable, or it's best to not do the mod?

Never had to mod my DS3 to hit 540+ FSB, guess I was lucky. Nice thread though and rather helpful if I ever wanted to go for 600. I'd say avoid all mods if you can as they will void your warranty.
