    P5b dlx & G.skill HZ....resume tweaks!

    I have 2x1GB G.skill Pc6400 HZ, E6400 and P5b dlx with BIOS 614 official.

At 400 FSB, RAM can go at 1000 only with 5-4-4-10@2.3v, not 4-4-4-12. If I set 333 FSB, RAM can go at 1000 with 4-4-4-12.
With this ram, I can't go over 440 FSB with ratio 1:1, I don't think that are voltage of chipset because with all voltage at defafult the mobo can go 440. If i rise voltage the situation is same.
    Actually PC runs 400x7 RAM 1:1 4-4-3-6 @ 2,1 volt
There are some tweaks for this ram & P5b Dlx? WE can resume in all tweaks in this tread, if there are......

P.S. sorry for my bad english

    Question

    Hello
    I just bought some G.Skill 2GBHZ DDR2 800Mhz and I'm a little disapointed .
    The RAM is marked 605 (old stock maybe) it will run 4 4 4 12 @ 400Mhz but anything above that requires 5 5 5 15 even with 2.3V . Maximum overclock is 1090 @ 2.3V . Also if I do set the memory for 100Mhz @2.3V and 5 5 5 15 , Prime gives me instant memory errors .
At first I thought I was doing well but after surfing the forums a little it seems I'm well off the mark performance wise . Your thoughts please is their anything you can do for me ?.

    ASUS P5B deluxe WiFi
    E6400 Allendale
    420watt thermaltake
Thermaltake Bigwater745 (Their are 2 40mm fans blowing air over the RAM )

update bios 614....and clear CMOS after update.
If ram doesn't run higher, i think that you have an hold versione of HZ withoiut micron D9. You try to test ram at 333 FSB.

Yea I've read that thread a few times now .
I know you say I have no right to expect to overclock but that just isn't true . I payed premium money for this RAM and its perfoming worse than some cheap GEIL 667 .
Perhaps I should try and RMA it and quote you from all the threads that imply superior performance . Hey I'm on disability I have limited funds I've got a right to be annoyed . You wouldn't consider a swap would you ?
I'll leave it at that for the mo' before I get carried away . PM if you like .

umm not to sound rude here but your problem could be your power supply that Thermaltake 420Watt may not be enough

Yea I thought about that so I disconnected everthing I could and still no result , including down clocking my graphics . It was good enough to get my E6400 to over 3.9Ghz tho'

    Thumbs down

I suppose you think I didn't notice that you edited that post and then put it back up with some machine crippling pathetic settings

Hokus Pokus now you see it now you don't and now you see ...er... something else .

Thats a pretty abysmal cut and paste .

And waddya know its time for the PSU paranoia threads again . How many times have I read that crap .

My machine would be lucky to exceed 300 watts while doing something like playing a game nevermind the much less wattage it would require just to boot and run a little prime .

But hey what do I know I've only been building computers for 10 odd years .

Nevermind we'll do it the expensive way then if you prefer , last chance .

I'm an honest guy but you guys obviously ain't so do unto others blah .

but my problems......Have you already did test with 1:1?

This is my best result in overclocking with a good AIR COOLED on the RAM:

    http://img239.imageshack.us/my.php?image=633zx1.jpg

The RA@2.45 are too HOT, without air cooled i can't go over 1150Mhz.

Sorry G.Technician, but 2,2 in BIOS is good for daily-use? Or it's too hard, and the ram can broke?

i had test 1:1 at 400 but not yet push to 500.... i need some better mobo lol

2.2v is good, 2.4v is hot.
too hot will result damage or shorter life for sure.
suggest 2.2v everyday and good air flow

LOL how can you just say that that psu is rated for only 18A on the +12 thats the bare minimum for your card and looks like you have Oced it well, this has got only 1 +12 module
You seriously need a better psu thats what is holding the ram back back
