The cooler on the X1650 is sweet looking. Small, but it's a cool style.

SWAYT. I've been waiting to see what the 7600gt killer looks like up close.

That's gonna be a sweet little <$150 card.

X1950pro is looking nice, as always, as well.

I wanna know what`s the deal with "SLI" lookalike connectors on top of the cards. Does that mean that ATI can now use a "SLI" type bridge for the cross-fire instead of that "dongle", or are the new ATI+AMD cards now able to run in SLI mode?

the X1950Pro cooler looks alot like the one on the 7800GT.
But with ATIs version the small tunnels start out narrow and get wider making it so part of the air gets pushed out at the side of the card.
    Nice solution.

    @Yori
yup ATI now uses a felxible Bridge to enable Corssfire like SLI.

Yep. X1650xt/x1950 have the crossfire compositing engine incorporated into the gpu die and the new bridge connectors so you won't need a master card, a dongle, or supposedly a crossfire-certified chipset. All good things.
    That is all.

    Peace and love.

    I do too...

One concern with the new ATi bridges...where do you get them? Do they come with the card, the board? Separately?

I reckon one will come with each card... so when you have two, you have two bridges also. That 1950gt does look like a honey.. whew... that might be the card I have to jump to before the r600..

Yep, the Molex bridges are required (by ATi) to ship with every board.

and I think the reason peeps are so excited is:

(from the canned benches released with x1950xtx PR)

    X1650XT 256MB - 6690 3DM05 / 3724 3DM06 (better than highly overclocked 7600gt)
    X1950PRO 256MB - 9558 3DM05 / 5320 3DM06 (same as x1900gt)

Considering the MSRP differance is expected to be about $50, that money is going to buy you a hell of a lot of performance, especially if the x1950pro uses extremely underclocked GDDR4 like it seems to. It'll be a overclocking beast. No clue about if the x1650xt is gddr3 or gddr4, but regardless, x1950pro is where it's going to be, regardless of if the heatsink fan is pretty or not.

What happened to that X1650XT? The PCI bracket is beat to hell.

I like 3DMark, every time I play I win. I'll wait for a real review, with real games to form an opinion on it. The 7600GT I have now is beginning to get on my nerves. I am thinking about spending the bucks and doing the Step Up program to a 7900GS.

All the brackets are beat to hell. That is weird.

Of course wait for a real games and review...Canned PR benchmarks suck, and 3dmark can be thrown off by any number of specific features that may not help when playing a specific game but I think you understood what I was trying to say. Look at those numbers compared to the x1600xt/x1650pro and the 7600gt. The 3dmark06 numbers are up substantially because of the shader tests. While in 05 the 7600gt edged out the x1600xt, the 7600gt ate the x1600xt for breakfest in 06 because of them, and so was the real-world reality. Correlation? Perhaps not...but perhaps? Perhaps.
    That is all.

    Peace and love.
