X6800, ASUS P5WDG2 WS Pro and VapoLS

Here are the overclocking results for my new setup. I'm still testing and tweaking so the results will probably improve.
I'm new to the Intel gear so go easy on the flame . Any suggestions and tweaks are welcome.

I pretty certain I'm being limited by voltages as the max bootable overclock is 32M stable. Gunna volt mod the board and then try LN2

have you try the max fsb of your P5WDG2 ?

Yeah, I can't boot over around 410MHz with this chip. Also due to limited RAM timing options in BIOS I have to use memset 2.1 to drop the tRFC to around 42 then use ASUS AI booster to raise FSB to it's windows max of 450MHz.

A big problem I'm finding at the moment is that running with a higher FSB means you need more vCore. I can get it to ~4.5Ghz at 344FSB but only 4.1Ghz at 410FSB. I'll try testing the other chipset voltages to see if that helps but if not I'll try modding the board.

Yeah it's a retail chip. I'm having a re-occuring problem with my cards running in SLI. Hopefully it's not something a driver/windows re-install can't fix. I'll run some Futuremark tests as soon as possible. The cards are Leadtek 256MB 7800GTXs standard version.

I'd love to give it more vCore and think it probably could go faster as the temps are still at around -17C. Unfortunately the BIOS vCore max is only 1.7v which equals 1.64v in reality before v droop.

That was with the maximum BIOS settings of 1.8vMCH and 1.7vCore . Sparing some miracle with FSB Termination Voltage or vICH settings, I might have to volt mod it.

Absolutely, let's hope. Having the extra RAM timings available would also be great, at the very least tRFC.

Dry Ice runs here were at 11x424 4:5.

The max stable OC was benchable at 32M so my guess is I'm being limited by the max vCore of 1.64v. I'm thinking the extra voltage options of the new ABIT AW9D-MAX might do the trick
