    7900GTO 512mb

OCuK are selling 7900GTO's for £199. They are 512mb 7900GTX cards with 1.4ns ram.

This card is more or less identical to any other 7900 GTX on the market accept for two differences. The first is its memory is clocked slower and secondly look at the price. Performance wise these cards are only approx 3-5% slower than a 7900 GTX with full speed memory, but you can easily overclock these cards as well. So when you consider the price these are an amazing deal. Be quick! Stock will soon be gone!

    - GeForce 7900 GTX Core running at 650MHz
    - 512MB GDDR3 Extreme Memory running at 1320MHz
    - 24 Pixel Pipelines
    - Designed For Extreme HD Gaming – Delivering Ultra Realistic Gaming Experiences
    - Dual link DVI support
    - SLI ready – Delivering upto 2x the performance
    - Shader Model 3.0 Support
    - True High Dynamic Range Rendering Support – Based on Open EXR technology

    Not bad for £200
    Intel Core 2 Duo e4300 - Xpert Vision Geforce 9600GT SLi - 2GB Geil Ultra PC6400 - Asus P5N-E SLi - X-Fi Xtreme Music - 2 Seagate 7200.10 16mb 250GB Sata II - Raid 0 - 1 Samsung Spinpoint 501LJ 500gb Sata II 16mb

    LOL.

OCUK really need to be sued by someone with a top lawyer. They were selling these as proper 7900GTX's.

No they do sell normal 7900GTX's as well these are coming in a week. I can't see what the problem is? If you ask me they are offering a great card for a great price. Im sure alot of people would jump on the bandwagon if they realised this was a 7900GT with a 650mhz core a 7900GTX cooler and 512mb of ram how is that bad for under £200?

So this is the first reports on the card:
    http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...8&page=2&pp=30

    ...I rest my case.

OCUK must laugh all the way to the bank, I've never seen so many halfstupid fanboys like on that place.
Prices are too high, and allways noted + VAT...(like there is any companies buying that can get refund on VAT shopping there )

The are decieving and semilying about products and prices....a shajty place all in all...

I know nothing of OCUK, but that link proves nothing. One guy that doesn't overclock showing some of his 3DMark scores. How does this prove you right in determining that the card is garbage?

OCUK sucks for given reasons and more, and my guess is that those cards are MSI rejects.
    Time will tell...

    ...but hey, thats my opinion..
..so if you wanna buy a card from them and prove me wrong...

    autodetect settings were 678/730

dunno what that means to be honest, never o/c'd anything before. Are those reasonable numbers?
Quote taken from that link... those numbers aren't that bad for under 200E I take, idk what core voltage those cards are running?

hehe my gt autodetects about the same with 1.55vgpu for which I had to mod it, if the ram overclocks to 800 I would gladly trade my 7900gt top which I bought for 70E more ( +- a few I don't remember exactly :P ) for this one.

It's actually 200 UK Pounds, not 200 EURO.

So it lands on 300 EURO actually..

..and maybe I'm wrong on the card, but I don't think so.
    I don't trust them for a second.

And a autodetect on 675MHz on 1.55v is not representative at all for a 7900 core, that is really crappy.

Hehe point taken.. still it's not that much more as I paid for my gt top and this had twice the ram Maybe it will clock wurse on that ram but hell it's basicly a gtx for 300E.

About my autodetect, yeah it was really low, idk why. It benched fine at 710, and with just a vf700 on it that's enough for me

I wouldn't complain unless I as the OP from that thread I already had a gtx and wanted to run them on sli, and even then I wouldn't complain as it's still sold as gto not gtx afaik

Heh, well...it has most certainly some lower grade memory, evidentely a locked bios...and are advertised as a "GeForce 7900 GTX Core running at 650MHz"
    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/7900_Series.html

...and that my friend is pure false advertising, Gibbo has not even cared to answer the poor guy that falled for that..(he never does).

Furthermore, the MSI card that the OCUK card derives from (failed binning), is sold some 50 EURO cheaper...and it has better results and memory, also can be flashed as shown in this thread:
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=116999

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to buy that card from OCUK, it's more expensive..crappy quality and the support blows

Clint i taught this was a video card discussion thread not flaming OCUK

I do not work at OCUK nor getting paid to advertise for them but flaming a company because you had some bad expirience with them is plain stupid.Everyone in his life has problems with hardware.

I was quite shocked to read this thread with your posts flaming OCUK in every possible line instead of purely discussing the video card issues etc.

Now do not post back with more flaming

Well, thread is about OCUK's "own" brand of that card...only to be bought there.
So any opinions about OCUK is relevant, and I have kept the card issue itself "alive" in the posts as well..

For the record, I've bought a CPU from them once...without any problems whatsoever....but that doesnt stop me from feeling for others after me that has not been so lucky.

Well it seems to have turned out well after all checking the thread recently.

I don't think there is anything dubious about the MSi card, MSI do a lot of OEM stuff and the GTO is primarily an OEM card. For the specification it is a good price for what is a 90% GTX card no matter whether it is GTX or GT on the chip. If you are going to be SLi then you need to make note of the flashing.

As for OCUK I buy stuff from them but only when I cannot get it at my normal sellers. They are not the cheapest and they are not the best for quality of service but they are not the worst either. I have a couple of Galaxy 7900GS cards on order from them.

Strangely enough the best service I have had in total has been from cclonline which are about as un-enthusiast as possible and you'd think would be humdrum .. never had any problems at all with them though. They just don't sell much sexy stock

    Regards

    Andy

Yes, I must admit it looks like it's a good deal after all...I simply will have to eat up my own words on this

..I might be a grumpy ol' swede, but I can admit when I'm wrong...and this turned out to be the case...as for the hardware that is.

Business ethics over at OCUK still leaves a lot to wish for though.

Ordered 2 friday from mwave at 2pm 4hrs later they had already been shipped. Total with Fedex 2nd day shipping $512.74. I have 2 friends that work for Nvidia the bios are not locked, and it uis possible to get these to 700core and 1500 memory with no problems.Right now I'm running a Quad SLI rig,but I found a Brand New FX57 for $100,so that gave me an excuse to build another rig. Ill be getting these Tues so by 4pm my new rig should be ready, and i'll be posting some 3DMark6 scores.with the cards running stock then OCed. I'll also be running the FX57 @3.6 with liquid cooling. If I dont run into any problems, they should be posted by 6-7pm. My Quad rig has a X2 4800+ OCed to 2.8 but right now I have the FX57 installed.Have to be honest,my dual core is much faster. with the FX57 my score dropped by 1900 points.my CPU score dropped by 900 points. I should also have a FX60 by next Sat.
